Polls open for primary voting

The polls are open for the official -- and last -- voting day of Florida's primary season. They remain open until 7 p.m. tonight, and no great crush is expected.

At one Plantation poll, a single vote had been cast by 7:15 a.m. and one person was waiting. Poll workers scurried about, still getting organized and setting up the electronic voting machines a few minutes after the official opening of the poll at Central Park Elementary on Nob Hill Road.

Lines were far longer at the Dunkin' Donuts across the street, where 10 people waited in line and the workers were highly organized and efficient. Plantation plumber Bob Cohen said he hadn't voted yet, and wasn't sure if he would. A shrug of his shoulders told the story.

1. I'm the only one in my office with an "I Voted" sticker too...

and me and my girlfriend were the only ones voting at our polling place when we showed up -- at the 8-9 a.m. hour that's traditionally very busy.

I live .4mi from my polling place... and yet I know 1/2 the people at my complex will drive right by without a thought. What is your thoughts on polling places having signs up for certain candidates. I think it is intimidating to say the least... and it tells you how the people at these polling sites may treat you if their is red all around....

4. My polling place was well run. Most Dems I talk to are disgusted with

the negative campaign between Smith and Davis, and don't vote because of it.

voting for Harris. That's why she's going to win this one.

The rest of the crowd isn't going to bother because they really don't have a dog in this fight. They don't want to support anyone in their own party, knowing full well it will be a rubber stamp vote for Stupid if s/he wins the race.

18. I've heard that for years. Apparently, it's an open secret in Tallahassee

A friend of a friend of a friend says Crist hit on him, etc.

He denies it and has, in fact, recently cultivated an image of a bit of a playboy. He was married briefly and there are recent reports that he signed away parental rights to a child so she could be adopted (he claims it wasn't his but he didn't want to hold up the adoption). His campaign is acting all outraged about it being reported, but personally, I'm inclined to think his own campaign put it out as a counter to the gay rumors.

it comes down to electability. Also, neither one has anything to do with the DLC, but I get that your saying they're not liberal enough for you.

As far as elecability, I think this election will probably come down to the I-4 corridor, and since Davis is out of Tampa, he got my vote.

I spent 12 hours, non-stop putting campaign signs in polling places last night. I didn't get the last one in the ground until 6:15 this morning.

I covered 45 polling places in 2 counties.

I'll also add that Davis is a co-sponsor of Russ Holt's verified paper ballot bill and has shown an impressive ability to fight against the slimy Big Sugar accusations, which bodes well for his ability to stand up for himself in the general election.

17. I've heard so many people say it only the primaries!

Floridian here, poll worker at my precient said it had been pretty much a steady flow. We were the only ones there voting, its usually slow between 2-3, and then picks up around 4:00.
