Conservative LTTE hall of fame nominee
brought to you by Laurie Abate of Metarie, Lousiana in the 5 September edition of the New Orleans Times-Picayune:

"I read with interest the (hurricane) recovery plan of the democratic leaders, the plan they will enact if they are voted a majority in the congress this fall. Katrina happened a year ago. Looks like these elected officials are prepared to represent us, but only if they receive a majority in congress. Voters, are you listening?"

Thank you Laurie for such a brilliant display of conservative logic, acumen, grace, compassion and knowledge of the voting process in congress.

1. This somehow makes up for or is somehow worse than
her fellow citizens having thus far been ignored by the incumbents?

What a moran... I'm series.

2. Metairie at high altitude, is it?
I'm thinking lack of oxygen to the brain. Dazzling, though; she'll probably win a featured spot as a guest commentator on Katie's Fun! Newz next week.

4. Must be some sort of full conservative moon
Recently there was the yahoo who was so disappointed that there was no compare and contrast features between the immediate feds response to Hurricanes Katrina and Andrew, obviously because the press just loved Clinton. Gosh, Andrew occurred in August 1992, Clinton occurred in January 1993.

3. ::KnockKnockKnock:: Yes? Mrs Abate? Yes! Hi, I'm Otis Obvious.

Well, Ms Abate, it sure seems as if you have hit the obvious nail on the obvious head. As a third generation member of the Obvious family, I would like to thank you for your astute observations made in your LTTE today. It is obvious you are obviously tuned into the obvious. I mean saying something so obvious as "Looks like these elected officials are prepared to represent us, but only if they receive a majority in congress." makes you.......wait a sec.....hang on......"prepared to represent us, but only if they receive a majority in congress." Do you mean to say that if elected officials don't receive a majority, they wont represent us? But...but.....THEY ARE ELECTED OFFICIALS! THEY HAVE TO REPRESENT US.....No....sorry. That would be too obvious.

Have a pleasant day.

5. The Candidate for the House Seat is prepared to serve . . .
. . . but only if he wins the election.

Can't beat logic like that.

Then again, Bush was prepared to serve as president even though he didn't win the election.
