On September 10 and 11, ABC Television is planning to run an inaccurate film depicting the events leading up to the 9/11 attacks. The film was written by an avowed conservative and it largely places the blame for failing to prevent the attacks on the Clinton administration while whitewashing the failures of the Bush administration.

Our review of the film shows it to be full of such inaccuracies. Its distorted version of history is inconsistent with the 9/11 Commission Report, upon which it claims to be based. The events leading up to September 11, 2001 are too important and too tragic to play politics with the facts.

I hope the lack of response means everyone is busy writing e-mails to ABC! Now there's no excuse NOT to write. If you don't want to write your own, you can just use the text of theirs... no muss, no fuss.

This is important. If it was Bush who was being lied about and maligned, you just know every one of his supporters would be flooding ABC with protests. Bush benefits WAY TOO MUCH from LIES! We can't let him have this round, too!

On September 10th and 11th, ABC -- which is owned by Disney -- is planning to air a "docu-drama" called "Path to 9/11," which is being billed as "an objective telling of the events of 9/11." In fact, the film was written by an unabashed conservative who twists the facts to blame President Clinton.

In fact, the list of counterterrorism initiatives undertaken by the Clinton administration is lengthy and comprehensive. Regrettably, the record shows that most of these efforts were watered down or abandoned by the Bush administration when they came into office. History will also record that President Bush was the one who received -- and while on vacation, chose to ignore -- a Presidential Daily Briefing on August 6, 2001 entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US."

ABC's new six-hour film was apparently screened in advance only to conservative bloggers and journalists -- and received extensive praise from none other than Rush Limbaugh. ABC is advertising the film as being "based on the 9/11 Commission report" -- yet also admits that it's a "docu-drama," in which writers and producers are free to invent and distort facts. Former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke has already completely refuted one of the key scenes of the movie.

It's simply stunning to think that as this fall's election approaches, a major television network would devote six hours of prime-time programming to air such a slanted and inaccurate program. There is simply no way that a conservative writer, with an anti-Clinton axe to grind, should be allowed to use public airwaves to broadcast a gross distortion of the truth -- especially on the anniversary of the worst day in our history.

Some movie done about John Kerry right before the 2004 election casting him in a very negative light and the Kerry camp wanted equal time and were refused? Maybe Im dreaming that up, but i seem to remember something where just before the election, the "liberal media" came rushing in with an arm full of propaganda in favor of the non-Liberal.

She has all the contact information there for contacting Scholastic Books about their plan to distribute this sh*t to grade schoolers, who won't know what "docudrama" or "fiction" mean. imo, they are helping grow a generation who will remember what they read in greade school, and feel that story is fact. Not fair.

It's said that those who govern control history. Literally, that is what's happening here.

I have watched my last show on ABC TV--national and local. A station that would promote right-wing propaganda under the guise of a "dramatization" of the horrific events of 9/11 does not merit my time or my attention.

You are presenting flat-out falsehoods that dishonor the men and women who DIED on September 11, 2001. You are using their deaths to help the Republican Party in their exploitation of those events to keep themselves in power.

They tried to pull a fast one. This was supposed to turn back all the efforts to expose the Bush cabal's lies. This wasn't just a film about 9/11, it was a right-wing attempt at a coup: a completely biased film labeled objectively superior to all the liberals' claims (read everything from the election conspiracies to the war on Wal-Mart).
