Gingrich has released an 11-point plan aimed at keeping Republicans in power.

At first, I thought it was a serious plan written in a very serious tone...until I got to the punch lines:

7. Achieve Sustainable Energy Independence.

8. Control Spending and Balance the Budget.

Good one, Newt. You really had me going there. But nobody--nobody--will take you seriously if you think Republicans can suddenly make the last six years disappear and start advocating for energy independence and a balanced budget.

That's like Jeffrey Dahmer advocating for vegetarianism, or Sean Hannity advocating for humility, or George Bush advocating for a rigorous summer reading list. ("I read three Shakespeares...")

What kind of fools do you take the American people to be?
