I guess I superficially dismissed Dan Abrams. Wow. WTF is up with MSNBC?

K.O. and freakin' Scarborough.

J.S. will never inspire trust, however, he's appearing to have received his latest talking points. And, they're not from Rove. In fact, J.S. is looking a little uncomfortable, trying to be the "liberal" attack dog, LOL regarding the idiot ABC movie.

Husb2Sparkly, you picked up on this a few weeks ago. :applause:

I'm predicting MSNBC is about to become a journalist's network.

Want credibility, with the opportunity to use your investigative and writing skills? MSNBC is looking for you. :-)

About 5 months ago, I witnessed MSNBC referencing the the T.O. story about Rove's indictment, in an almost completely objective way.I did a "Holy Crap, they've verified the story" post, just because I couldn't believe it and then had to retract it a minute later after rewinding my DVR. You can search for it, if you want. That's one of my more embarrassing DU OP moments.

Anyway, that story was a "Latest on the Internet" story, during mid-day, but hey, it was there. I've also seen them attribute gwb idiot videos to C & L.

So, I'm sending a quick platonic hug to MSNBC, for tonight's shows.

:pals:

And a wave :hi: and a toast :toast: to Husb2Sparkly...you saw it right away. MKJ

1. I'm guessing that Dan is hedging in bets in case the dems win
In case they start making noises about "media reform," or having GE divest from NBC, he wants to be in a position to say, "What do you mean? WE'RE fair and balanced!"

to be in response to Keith Olbermann's success. He's up like 55% - remember, most of these talking heads are entertainers....they want to uh hum, like stay ahead of the trend...snark.

4. Bingo! KO is doing so well with his telling the truth, who wouldn't
want to jump on the bandwagon? But it also shows how fickle everyone is. The truth is so enlightening, why be wishy-washy?

5. I'd like to think they'll become a journalist's network .... but ......
.... it may well be more crass than that. It could be as simple as indentifying a huge underserved market - the 60%+ of the country who won't listen to the usual right wing palaver. And if that's their motivator, that's just hunky dory with me.

Whatever the reason, I'll take any shift in the media we can get.

7. Maybe they aren't doing enough stories
about missing white girls, so XM is unhappy.

8. I still think Abrams is screwing up MSNBC
Yeah, Keith is the bright spot and he's their top show in ratings. But I'm sick of all those taped prison, crime and celebrity shows Abrams fills the 10-midnight with and on the weekends. MSNBC was essentially off the air on the Labor Day weekend showing only taped shows. They didn't even cover Steve Irwins death till Tuesday. Now of course Irwin's death wasn't earth-shattering, but it sure was a big news story nonetheless.

10. I've had that frustration a lot....
Wanting to check some hard news out at MSNBC and ditch CNN updates, but it's yet another "MSNBC Investigates" rerun being shown. They need better programming.

Still, I hope they're listening and responding to KO's success.

11. MSNBC won't become objective.
I mean, be honest.

They have Olbermann.

The most "centrist" person they have is Tweety.
