Living in Pleasantville
We all live in a land where everyone is prosperous, and no one has to worry about paying their heating bills. We live in a land where our military heroes protect us from harm, while bringing peace to other parts of the globe. We have a democracy where every vote is counted, and every person's vote matters.

We live in a land where everyone shares the same values, the same family systems, and the same religion. The world is black and white, and all the people are white. We live in a land which our leaders respect human rights, they believe in justice, and they respect all people equally.

We live in an absolute utopia, we live the American Dream. We live in Pleasantville.

We want to love our country, we want to believe in our country, and so we must grasp on to our vision of what that country is and not let go. We can be content with our black and white view of the universe, just so long as we never have to see the blood red marks in the background.

We can grasp on to this black and white vision because it is a vision that is simple to grasp on to, it is a vision where we are the good guys and they are the bad guys. It is a vision where we are right and they are wrong. It is a vision where we are all unified, every last one of our countrymen and women are standing together calling for the same ideals and standing behind the same leader.

This is Pleasantville, the land the Republican party which we all support created for us. It is a land where we don't have to ask any questions because we don't need any answers. It is a land in which everyone we disagree with is treasonous. It is a land where we don't have to see what is staring us right in the face.

There are some people however who are working to destroy Pleasantville, they are trying to add color to the issues which face our land. They are trying to expose certain truths that have blended in so well with the black and white background before now.

This is Pleasantville, and we must stop the color from staining our perfect utopia.

P.S. For those of you who did not understand any of what I just wrote go rent the movie Pleasantville. When you apply the film to the current GOP mindset you will understand.
