Put these nominally Democratic Senators on the Spot!
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 07:15 AM by Pacifist Patriot
The following senators voted against Feinstein's amendment against defense funding for cluster munitions.

Bayh (D-IN)
Biden (D-DE)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Inouye (D-HI)
Landrieu (D-LA)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Lieberman (AH-CT)
Lincoln (D-AR)
Nelson (D-FL)
Nelson (D-NE)
Pryor (D-AR)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Salazar (D-CO)
Schumer (D-NY)

This is what I wrote to my senator.

Dear Senator Nelson,

I would like a full explanation justifying your nay vote for Senator Feinstein's amendment to the 2007 defense appropriations bill that would have prevented military funding from paying for cluster munitions.

I cannot imagine how any compassionate human being could be party to the continuation of the use of munitions with such a horrendous toll on civilian populations. Please help me understand.

Regards,
Rev. _________

Please consider asking them to explain themselves!

8. He's not - I was shocked to see his name here
He is not up for office and I don't know if he intends to ever run again. All I can think is that, like the toture bill that is coming soon, the Republicans are trying to make the Democrats vote for things they know are wrong to sound as strong as Republicans. Pathetic

9. I will take that up with Lautenberg!

He's my senator.

Grrrr. What on earth was he thinking?

Cher

edited to add that letter is now in the mail.

Still steaming. I noticed that when I went to Lautenberg's Web site, he is on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Wonder if that has anything to do with his vote.

10. Joe Biden: NOT DLC, John Kerry: DLC
You can look it up. Try some brain cells next time with that comment. Slapping labels on people without a fucking clue makes us look pretty stupid

11. nominally Democratic Senators? Yeah and what does that make Feinstein
She hit jackpot with one decent bill. The woman is reliable as an alarm clock with a dying battery in it.

Perhaps we should view entire records before we start claiming who is a nominal democrat and who isn't.

Should we write our senators about it? Hell Yes
Should we slap fricking labels on anyone we don't like - that's what freepers do

You'll have to check out the repartee above to get it. Editing on the fly missed the grammatical mistake.

14. Not surprised Clinton is there
She has never met a war she hasn't liked since "'Nam" -- which she opposed because of American losses in strategy, not so much the millions being murdered.
