Lyndon Johnson had it right. "Call the other guy a pig fucker and make him deny it."

No matter what we do, the only way we can win this round is to somehow get the majority of the country to view this the same way we do ...... an outright lie about the facts.

The only media venues that will tell our side correctly are Olbermann, Comedy Central, AAR, Pacifica, and various and sundry blogs.

Every other venue will pose the issue as a 'debate' with our side versus the shriek monkeys.

The truth no longer matters.

The 'rightness' no longer matters.

Whoever wins the false 'debates' no longer matters.

Any time you try to deny you're a pig fucker, you look even more like a pig fucker.

PLEASE tell me I'm not seeing the whole picture.

4. If we don't remember that this is how the "corporate" media operates
than we are no better than they are.

Many of us will soon "Forget" that the corporate media is there to manipulate the masses.

I reject every single thing the Corporate media says and does.

If they say blue, I say black....

if they say yes, then I say Hell Naw!

If they show a movie about non-fictional events, I don't watch.

If they tout certain 2008 presidential candidates, I look at who they are not touting....cause that is gonna be who I vote for.

They ain't slick, and I'm sick and tired of this shit, and I ain't takin' it no more!

8. lo;l
it is not a corporate media issue. it's a director issue

michael moore had his (self-admitted) DRAMATIZATION called fahrenheit 9-11

this is no different

just from the other side

16. Call it what you want.....
bottomline--"director" of a corporate media network.

The difference is one had to "pay" to see Michael Moore's movie. This is on our "used to be" public airwaves for all to see at absolutely no cost. This ain't even on cable.

ABC ain't supposed to be "the other side".

So in essence, your post is inaccurate.

9. You can make the other guy look like the idiot...
and the hypocrite that he is.

I think fighting this thing is the right thing to do, at least on the legal front. There are lots of people out there who buy into the meme that Clinton did nothing to fight terrorism, thus causing 9/11 to happen. This piece of fictional propaganda reinforces that idea, and it needs to be rebutted.

12. I'm not saying to not fight it .........
.... I *am* saying that drawing first blood in these kinds of things is what determines the winner. By the time the truth comes out, the damage is done. If the story rages for a few weeks, but the facts take longer to be made known (and they likely will), the winner (them) is already determined.

11. Johnsons tactic works better
when you haven't had a multi-million dollar investigation by a bi-partisan commission already establish the facts though. Bill is doing the right thing.

It isn't about winning or losing (at least to me.) It IS about standing up to be counted & finding myself on the side of the angels. I always wonder - what if more than a couple of Lutheran ministers had stood up to Hitler when they first came for the Jews? Could a few more have inspired a few more? Could we have saved six million Jews? A million Poles? A quarter of a million Gypsies, Seventh Day Adventists, other "undesirables"? If even one more than the few Lutheran ministers, one or two Catholic priests, a Liberal politician here or there had spoken up?
I don't know. But I know my voice will never be counted among the missing.

..... The fight goes on. As it should. As it must.

This thing today, however, is all about campaign tactics in the run up to November 7. They punk'd us.

17. I think this is actually starting to gain wings..
Not that pigs actually fly, but I have noticed that all of the media have picked up on this. They are picking it up based on the inaccuracies in the movie. As long as the debate stays with the "inaccuracies", I think this may sway the views on the movie to a point where either ABC seriously revises it or cancels it.

My $0.02 worth.

18. We can only wish
Yes, the debate might be a healthy thing.

I don't think ABC is going to revise it in any meaningful way. (The current ***rumor*** is that they're going to add some things harmful to bush rather than tell the truth about Clinton.)

Once it gets shown, that story becomes the de facto truth for many people who only believe what they see on teevee. These same people will never even pay any attention to the 'debate' that might follow.

19. William Cohen did an excellent job on Wolf Blitzer a little while ago..
He said that they didn't send him a copy of the film, but from what he's heard.. there's a LOT of wrong information in it..

Seems like everytime Wolf asked him about a segment of the film, he said "no, that's completely incorrect too"

And he should know..

I hope they pull it all together instead of just editing it.. but that's probably not likely.

20. I've heard some good refutation today, too.
Roger Cressey has been excellent.

I even saw Bob Barr try to defend it and then actually back down!
