Lieberman shunned in Senate - "You could feel the temperature drop..."
You could feel the temperature drop as Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut entered the Senate chamber yesterday for the first time since he lost his Democratic primary last month and became an independent candidate.

Democratic leaders Richard Durbin (Ill.) and Charles Schumer (N.Y.) kept a safe distance. Christopher Dodd (Conn.) gave him a perfunctory handshake. Harry Reid (Nev.), the minority leader, turned his back; when Lieberman approached, Reid indulged him in a quick handshake then quickly busied himself in another conversation.

The article is full of great bits:

Speaking to reporters off the Senate floor, (Dodd) chided Lieberman sharply. "Joe made a decision to do what he wanted to do, and other people respect the decision by voters," he said angrily. "You don't just disregard that, okay?" ...

1. Beautiful
But is it so much to ask for someone to put a whoopie cushion on his chair, too?

3. No obvious bias in THAT article...
"Partisanship is more important than friendship."

Or, maybe, believing in doing the right thing is more important than kissing the same ass the Republicans like to kiss.

Ya think?

7. How bout "Friendship is more important than constituents.......
This sounds more like what Ms. Landrieu meant with her quip about friendship being more important than partisanship.

6. Joseph Lieberman received an ovation (someones lying)
............. Joseph Lieberman received an ovation from fellow U.S. Senate Democrats on Wednesday while his anti-war challenger, Ned Lamont, won more party vows of support in the November 7 election.

................, Reid saluted Lieberman upon his return to Congress for the first time since losing the Democratic primary in Connecticut to Lamont last month, and beginning a new bid for re-election as an independent.

"Welcome back, Joe," Reid of Nevada told Lieberman at a closed-door meeting of Senate Democrats, prompting lawmakers to stand and applaud the three-term incumbent who was the party's 2000 vice presidential nominee. "Glad you are back."

8. This is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read.
Let a Refucklicon Senator be beaten in a primary and then decide to run against the Republofascist candidate and see how "partisan" the Pukes get! This is just a ridiculous hatchet job piece of shit article and should not even have been linked...

12. This piece is done to start trouble. I suspect it is of Republican doing
All other accounts were cordial- perhaps a little to cordial. Democrats giving him a standing ovation and others saying no one really wanted to see him lose.

17. This part hit my funnybone
"Hey, you know, that's politics," Senator Pariah told reporters who besieged him off the Senate floor. Lieberman reported that, privately, "some of the Democrats said, 'Sorry it didn't turn out better, but we hope you come back.' " He added, wryly, "I won't disclose which one said that."

It probably wasn't Dodd.

hahaha

I do not trust Milbank who has been lying consistently when it comes to Democrats, starting by his reporting on Conyers's hearings on the DSM.

19. I read the article twice bc I thought it was fiction the first time
About 7 paragraphs in I was thinking 'is this parody?' Some parts lack the 'ring of truth'.

So I take your assertions with due weight. Will read the links. Thanks

Once again, shading the truth. Starts out with "some", ends up with "one".
