Bush to Charlie Gibson - Dems Are NOT Going to Take the House
While I was suffering from insomnia last night, ABC News in the wee hours was showing a preview of Charlie Gibson's interview with Chimpy. When Gibson said that the experts predict that the Dems will take back and house and maybe the senate, Chimpy says "No way. It's not going to happen." When Charlie asked "what if", he kept insisting that it's not going to happen.

My question is:

IS THE FIX ALREADY IN? Can he be that confident because they have already fixed the election like they did in Ohio and Florida?

That statement just shook me to the core.

1. No, he can be that confident because he's clueless. NT

2. If the fix WAS in...
would he really act like it was? Or would he not admit that in front of cameras and millions of people?

3. He's too stupid to hold his cards to his chest.
Think back to election night in 2000. Shortly after the networks declared FL for Gore, the cameras are rollin' in the chimp's room and there he is declaring that his brother disagrees with the results. The stench of the night started right there for me and got progressively worse.

11. If he's that stupid, then why not give creedence to NYCGirl's post...
that he's confident because he's clueless?

Even if there is widespread election fraud, I can't believe Bush is on top of it. He just sits in the middle of the maelstrom and let's the adults do their work.

26. So true, and think back to 2004 when blackwell declared that
**** was going to win in Ohio and surprise **** did. We are now in hell and I do not see anything getting better.

4. bush has become aware that it makes no difference what he says. As long
as we don't have a free media, he can say anything with impunity, and he has, he is, and he will.

7. He acted the same way on election eve 2000 if you remember....
...they'd just announced Florida for Gore, they switched to Chimp HQ and * said, you'd better check Florida again, and smirked....

I have this sinking feeling that the fix is already in....

9. The fix was in in Florida, and he said virtually the same
thing election night 2000 AFTER Florida had been called for Gore. He said the same thing in 2004, when polls before the elction showed him trailing.

OF COURSE they are going to try to fix this.

But this is a new day, a new game and even die-hard proud to be republicans are saying; "this war in Iraq must end..."

19. Yes, I remember * saying that in '04
I believe he was being interviewed by Russert, who asked him if he was prepared to lose. * answered that he wasn't going to.

The look on *'s face gave me chills. * was absolutely certain he was going to win, whether * had been told that by God, mommy, daddy, Dick, or whoever.

6. I had that same feeling the day before the 2000 election.
I recall seeing B** on camera being asked "If the election comes down to Florida, do you think you'll have enough votes to win?" He said, (rather eerily, I thought) "If it comes down to Florida, no way I will lose." :scared:

12. Yeah, that's kinda my point...
Bush never expresses doubt about anything that he believes in. Belief = truth in Bush's brain.

14. The Fix should be in
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 10:28 AM by Marymarg
If ever the Republicans needed to fix an election, this is the one. They absolutely cannot lose the House or the Senate. They have way too much to lose if that happens. They are desperate and desperate people.... This is what scares me so. They absolutely must maintain control. They cannot withstand investigations.

Edit for typo

15. 36% approval rating + the 'fix'= revolt in the streets if he does steal
the election. He doesn't have the approval ratings that would let a theft of another election slip under the radar of the stupid American voters. They have wised up to him in five years and, who knows, maybe the dems will fight the results this time.

17. Something needs to happen here
I can't stand the lying b***ard and can't wait for the moving truck to pull up in front of the WH and haul his miserable ass back to Texas. How many times can they fix the election? Plus, he has dabbled in the Mexican, and the Venezuela elections, and God knows where else.

18. I think that depends on what they cook up
or "allow to happen" between now and then.

I hate to get out the old tin-foil hat, but it worries me that this group who has shown they will stop at nothing may up the ante if their normal fear tactics aren't working.

21. What the hell else do you think he's gonna say??!!

"Yeah, Charles my low poll numbers are dragging my party down, and we're probably gonna get our asses handed to us in Nov. Which means my agenda for undoing the New Deal, and returning the country to the control of an inherited oligarchy is off the table, and I'll be spending the next two years fighting off investigations, and trying to stay out of jail."

23. Each network touts its "exclusive" interview
Does exclusive mean one-on-one or the ONLY interview?

I always thought exclusive was something the other networks didn't have. Has the meaning of our language changed lately?
