Path to 9/11 : Sex scandal kept Clinton's eye off bin Laden threat
By Tim Reid in Washington

BILL CLINTON responded furiously yesterday to an American television mini-series about the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, which portrays him as so distracted by the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal that he failed to focus on the emerging threat of Osama bin Laden.

3. No, it kept the Republican
controlled House and Senate's eye off of bin Laden. The could have cared less about bin Laden. They were more interested in nailing Clinton on his blow jobs.

Clinton had very few encounters with Monica. He was not obsessed with her. The Repugs were.

If they were so concerned about terrorist threats they would have demanded rather than subverted action. But the sex scandal was more politically beneficial to them

7. If it was the "sex scandal"...
(not that I believe the premise for a minute)

then the blame for 9/11 lies at the feet of the Repubs who turned it into a f'ing witch-hunt. They are to blame.

10. Truth be told......The fault lies with Jimmy Carter.
The mistakes and the policy regarding the Middle East started in 1977. Flame away folks......

11. There's enough blame to go around -

- Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush. No administration is blameless. Anyone wanting to say this began after G.W. took office is fooling themselves and this hysteria over pointing fingers is getting in the way of actually finding a resolution to the situation.

We'd do far better to focus on the future than beating a 40 year old dead horse.
