I have no idea how her show is syndicated, or who picks it up. So it's possible that different network affiliates carry her show in different markets. I just don't know.

but from a legitimate perspective, one that you are refusing to acknowledge (or rather excusing because she makes some great philanthropic gestures), denying Schwarzenegger's cheesy women-groping past, using her credibility as a celebrity to spread that lie, was flat-out wrong.

I can acknowledge her philanthropic works. Can you acknowledge she used her clout to mislead Californians?

Bush has a 41% approval rating. Do the math.

Oprah lied to California voters on behalf of a girlfriend. Her word resonates with much of her audience, and she is responsible for that. She apologized when she found out James Frey was lying http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11030647/ but not a word from her when Schwarzenegger fessed up leaving no doubt. That's unconscionable IMO.

The implications of that "solid" she did a friend offend me as a woman and as a Californian.

The fact that you are perfectly okay with it is surprising to read here at DU. But, as always, you are welcome to your opinion even though you have been less than gracious in showing others the same courtesy.

12. nothing "controversial" about a school in Africa -- she risks nothing

doing good works in poor countries (hey, what about our own poor country of Louisiana??) is an easy way for rich people to "look good" without sacrificing or risking one damn thing.

Bottom line: she will do anything to keep the money rolling in. Sell-Out with a capital S, capital O. She is on ABC here and she could be Doing Something about this latest outrage, but of course she won't. That would be "controversial," that would take guts and the courage of one's convictions, which I don't think she has.
