What Do You Want America To Stand For?

I received this letter from a friend this morning & thought it deserved to be posted. He is much more eloquent than I and as is obvious from this, a passionate patriot!

Do you want American to stand for War? Bush invaded
Iraq with false pretense. Our national anthem second
verse “Then conquer we must, when our cause it is
just” – That’s my value. Not a war of choice masked by
lies.

Do you want American to stand for Torture? Bush has
condoned torture and it continues behind the cloak of
the C.I.A. The Geneva Convention declares
“Persons…shall in all circumstances be treated
humanely” – That’s my value. Not Secret C.I.A.
prisons.

Do you want American to stand for Fear? FDR said it
best “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!”
– That’s my value. Not Karl Rove’s constant beat drum
beat of possible threats.

I will not accept what President Bush and his cronies
want America to stand for. My vision for America is
Peace, Humanity and Confidence. Change the course!
