Is CQ the only analyst that has Pukes keeping the House?
I saw their projection on Washington Journal and couldn't believe it. They have Dems at about 203 seats and Pukes at 220. Every other non-partisan analysis I've heard about has Dems taking the House.

I guess the other question for me is what does this say about Congressional Quarterly, and C-SPAN, which has paired up with it for the 2006 election.

2. Have you heard such extreme numbers from any other source?
It's especially weird because Charlie Cook had just been on talking about what terrible shape the Pukes are in.

5. I don't understand why we constantly hear about Dems taking the House,
if not the Senate too. There are obviously two completely opposite media messages being sent.

10. Generic vs. Local
I have worked with polling and politics since 1968. Generic polls can say one thing "I want the Democrats to win". Local polls are what matter "I am satisfied with my guy/gal" When you look at each individual poll for districts; it probably still isn't there. Things can change in 2 months - either way.

4. They're hoping a blitz campaign kicked off by this ABC libel
will sew things up for them.

Remember, they don't care HOW they win. They don't care if they're tied up in lawsuits for the next two decades. They don't care if they completely destroy this country in a world war. They just want to WIN. Yay team.

I'm not so sure. Around here, Wilson (R-COW) has been blitz advertising, nasty and negative from day 1, since late July. The race has gone from a win for her to a toss up.

We'll have to hope people are angrier than they are fearful.

6. "We'll have to hope people are angrier than they are fearful."
That's it in a nutshell. And also hope the repigs' negative attack ads fuel their anger.

9. I definitely think the ABC/Disney fiasco will fuel that anger.
Hillary will especially benefit, unfortunately.

7. They know the SPIN will WIN.....we are so divided we weaken ourselves
GOP knows how to push our buttons to the POINT of DISTRACTION..

Focus on the challenge to get out the VOTE in massive numbers....get volunteers to hammer down doors urging our peeps to vote...

11. Frankly I agree with CQ
It doesn't matter what the polls say now, or on the day of the elections. It doesn't even matter how the votes are actually cast. What counts is how those votes are counted, and who does the counting. Given the fact that the last two elections have been rigged to produce the desired outcome, what is going to stop the same thing from happening again?

Until we have honest and open elections, we're going to continue to have Republicans in power, it's that simple.
