Announce with Statewide Kickoff Tour

Republicans tour Michigan in Support for Granholm

GRAND RAPIDS – A Republicans for Granholm committee, a big-tent grass roots effort, supporting the re-election of Governor Jennifer Granholm, was announced today during a 4-city press briefing tour by Chairman Gil Ziegler, a former Republican Candidate for U.S. Congress. The committee’s announcement came at scheduled press stops in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and Marquette.

“I am a Republican, and will continue to be one,” Ziegler said. “But after careful and thoughtful consideration, I have concluded that the best course for our State of Michigan is to re-elect Governor Granholm.”

1. Man, even more anecdotal evidence.
This is happening so much and in so many places that it has to be important. The question is ripe, why aren't the public opinion polls measuring this? I think that the answer is that this is all happening under the radar.

Man, I am hyped on our chances in November. This may be a huge turnover. Nobody is going to be predicting what's going to happen. People are tired of ChimpCo failure and they are going to be saying it loudly, in the voting booth.

3. A massive turnover in the power structure seems to be afoot.
Afterall, Clinton was in better shape in 1994 and the Democrats lost both houses.

4. Ziegler must be afraid of Amway republicans
Just remember, Engler and the Devos' have been at war for a while now, over the voucher proposal that Engler refused to endorse. It was on the ballot about 5 or 6 years ago, and it went down in flames, with about 20% of the vote. I believe Betsy resigned as MIGOP chairwoman over it all.

The only people who endorsed it in the long run were Cardinal Maida and Dick and Betsy.

The Devos family has an agenda. They are more to the right than W, and want to impose their religion on the public at large. Dick Devos needs to be stopped at this level, before he gets a chance to run for national office.
