Two GOP Senators on Judiciary Committee hold up Bush nominee

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Two_GOP_Senators_on_Judiciary_Committe_0912.html

Two Republican Senators have held up a Bush nominee to the DC Circuit Court of appeals, today's issue of The Hill is reporting.

Sources have told the paper that Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) are holding up President Bush's nomination of Peter D. Kaiser to the DC Circuit Court. The Hill describes the court as "the second-highest in the country."

Reportedly, the Senators are holding up the nomination because they argued during the Clinton Administration that ten judges were enough for the twelve member court. Since taking that stand, the case load of the court has declined.

Kaiser was a law clerk to Justice Anthony M. Kennedy of the Supreme Court and Judge Robert H. Bork of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He is also a member of the Federalist Society, a conservative legal organization.
