"Nobody ever asked me before"
WASHINGTON — WASHINGTON - When President Bush made the case for war against Iraq in the fall of 2002, no piece of evidence caught the public's attention more than the assertion that Saddam Hussein tried to acquire high-strength aluminum tubes to make a nuclear bomb.

But within days of that assertion, Rep. Heather Wilson knew that the Department of Energy disputed whether those tubes could be used in the centrifuges needed to enrich uranium for bomb fuel.

Now, as the Albuquerque Republican is being accused by her Democratic opponent of negligence in the run-up to the war, Wilson is disclosing that she questioned CIA officials about the aluminum tubes at classified briefings for members of Congress.

....She said she is discussing her questioning of the CIA about the tubes now because "nobody ever asked me before."

If ONLY we'd been asking the right questions, we would have KNOWN how diligent she'd been! :eyes:

2. Could have read the newspaper too. The same information about
those tubes, the doubts & so on was public knowledge from the very start. The congressmen are a bunch of dolts.

3. Uh huh
Well, I guess it's up to the voters of New Mexico to see if this passes for leadership from their elected officials. "Gee, we're about to embark on a ruinously expensive and lethal course that could scar our nation for decades, and I can see that it's based on a lie. I wonder if I should say anything, or just sit here and look pretty? Decisions, decisions. Hmmmm."

Once again, a Republican shows that the elephant flies above the eagle, and party loyalty is more important than the nation.

that information.
It's called lying by omission, it begets questions like "what did you know and when did you know it?"
