I'm working to overturn the abortion ban here in South Dakota. I truly fear that if this ban is not defeated on November 7,
Roe will be overturned by 2010 and this law (or something similar) will become the law of the land. It will not only be a dangerous law for women, but will strike at the very heart of privacy freedoms granted in the 4th Amendment and enforced in
Griswold. What are other people doing to help elect Democrats, remove Republican theocrats from power and roll back the tide against extremism? How many DU'ers are actively involved in campaigns across the country?
Last night a friend was telling me about her frustration and anger at the Bush Administration but wasn't sure what she could do about it. She's never been very political, but she's had enough. I pointed her towards Bob Casey's campaign since she lives in PA, and gave her links to local Democratic organizations. But it made me wonder: how many other people want to do something but don't know where to start. If you aren't sure how to get involved, try this link

Out here in the Badlands, our campaign is the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Familes.
