KEENE, N.H. --Former state Attorney General Peter Heed won both the Democratic and Republican primaries for Cheshire County attorney during a write-in campaign on Tuesday.
In November, he will face independent candidate Scott Trendell, who gathered enough signatures to get on the ballot.
Heed, a Republican, had initially supported Trendell, the regional prosecutor for eight Monadnock area towns. After Republican incumbent William Albrecht withdrew from the race, Heed declined to run. But then two groups started up to draft him.
