7. Because that's the GOP storyline and they're paid to stick to it. If they
ever reported then discussed the plans the Democrats have laid out, they'd be risking their next month's expensive mortgage payment,

4. Not in BushWorld, no.
I was listening to Arianna Huffington on Franken's show today, and she shot down every premise of 'stay the course', 'we have a moral obligation to the people of Iraq', etc. While Franken's argument was that we do have an obligation to the people of Iraq (which can never be repaid, IMO, because of the loss of civilians, infrastructure, etc,) we are fueling a civil war and we need to get our troops OUT and to areas nearby.

We do have an obligation to the people of Iraq, but it is to help them rebuild what we bombed and for those resources to go toward the people of Iraq rebuilding their country and NOT to American Corps. who thought that through contracts they would make huge sums of money.

6. Not as long as Bushy is in office
2008 is not THAT far away. Although it may seem that way some days.

8. no, it is NOT a plan!
nor is "staying the course" ...

it is at best a vague statement of goals ...

a plan would be: put the troops on some planes tomorrow and we're done ... that's a plan ...

to use the vague language proposed by Democrats, language that often includes some absurd, impossible condition like "as long as Iraq has been stabilized" (or words to that effect), the inevitable contingency carries a higher probability than the proposed course of action ... and that is no plan at all ...

9. No, then we'd have to confront the reality of what we've done
We can't deal with the *real* consequences of what we do -- we're Americans, for God's sake!
