"Divided Republicans"
The script for the next few days calls for a 'dramatic showdown' between the White House and some Republican senators over bills that would essentially trash the Geneva Convention.

The fact is, there's no such thing as 'Divided Republicans". This is all political theater. Tough George versus tougher Senators. "See, America? Republicans aren't in lock step. We'll stand up to the King, too."

So King George gets all dramatic and shit and hauls his ass down the street to the Capitol to 'have it out' with his party's 'insurgents'. I'm sure 'good people can differ' will be a sidebar quote in the Washington Times.

There are NO "Divided Republicans."

1. no you're
wrong. Period. The Republican party is sharply divided between the blue blood silver spoon BUSH typecast, the fanatic righty GINGRICH typecast and the FAR right that identifies more with Buchanan.

The Republicans are a step away from fracturing because of differing opinions on immigration, war on terror, social issues and government spending.

This is a good thing because the truly "dangerous" repug candidates like Giuliani (very electable nationally) can't receive broad GOP support. The repugs will present a gift to the DEMS with a GINGRICH or an Allen or someone like that.

4. They are in lockstep with gay marriage, flags, guns and God issues.
They will roll out these issues and bring the party together for the election.

2. And what would it mean if a Democrat
supported any of these bills?

3. Right, on, H2S
These phony showdowns are nauseating. Remember a few months ago when Specter was going to stand up to Smirk on phone taps and torture? Now Snarlin' Arlen's authored the bill that will make * into Mussolini. GOP=Nazis. Period.
