Max Cleland Visits Vermont to Support Bernie
Subject of Notorious Republican Slime Campaign Condemns Tarrant Ads

Last Friday, Senator Max Cleland - also the former head of the Veterans Administration and a Vietnam veteran - came to Vermont to support Bernie's candidacy and to discuss Bernie's strong record of helping our veterans.
Senator Cleland and Bernie held roundtable discussions of veteran's issues in Burlington and White River Junction. They described how the Bush administration has turned its back on our veterans by underfunding VA programs, subjecting veterans to means tests to receive benefits, and proposing new fees for prescription drugs.
Cleland, who lost three limbs in Vietnam, was subjected to a notorious reelection campaign in Georgia in 2002 that he unfortunately lost. The Republican attack machine ran ads featuring Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein while questioning Cleland's patriotism and ability to defend America against terrorist attacks.
And now the Republican attack machine has come to Vermont. Rich Tarrant has been running disgusting attack ads for almost a month now and they will only get worse as election day approaches. Not only that, but Tarrant has publicly stated that he will spend at least $2 million over the next two months!!
Don't let Tarrant buy the Senate seat with his dishonest ads. Please give today.
As reported in the Valley News, here's what Cleland had to say about Tarrant's ads: "The slime machine has come to Vermont." "The people of Vermont, I think they'll regurgitate against it. They'll throw up. They'll know it's not true."
Don't let the Republican attack machine do to Bernie what they did to Max Cleland. Join Senator Cleland in condemning the ads and helping Bernie. Your donation will help us take on the slime machine.
