6. I don't know if it's a coinky-dinky but at the YMCA, they pulled out
one of the t.v.s and stopped showing CNN. Now it's just Channel 13 local news, FOX and ESPN. Not so subtle.

8. I keep saying
that the dems have got to get off the moral "high ground" and start with the negative ads too. Its the only way they will win in this sheeple america.

9. Don't go negative.
Go facty.

Same result but you can wake up and look yourself in the mirror.

10. I'd rather wake up and look at myself in the mirror having WON the
election the night before.

People aren't interested in facts. The past five years are proof. The one thing they resonate to, despite all the hot air they waste on all the public opinion polls decrying negative campaigning, IS negative campaigning. If you can poison their minds about the opponent, even with some little thing, you own 'em come election day. It's just human nature. I, too, would like to stick to the high road. It'd be nice. But in this day and age, and with the way the game is now played, the high road takes you straight over a cliff.

negative campaigns. They're just not interested in anything. Voter turn out in Florida primary was an appalling 20%

12. What's really weird is that folks "say" that they are tired of negative
campaigns...but when it comes time to vote, those negative ads seems to be the only ones they remember.

Does negative campaigning work--Good interview at link on this!

13. These negative TV ads don't really sway voters that much. The only

thing that will change the election in FL is the voting machines. If for some reason they're not rigged, the Dems win. If it's business as usual in FL, Dems lose.

These negative tactics are really a smoke screen. Cleland I'm sure won by a pretty good margin in GA in 02 despite the smear from the folks supporting Chambliss. What put Chambliss in was Diebold.

Kerry won by about 3-4% according to the exit polls which were almost certainly accurate as opposed to the voting machines around the country, including the central tabulators, this despite the Swift Boaters and other negative tactics.

These smear tactics are just used so they can point to a reason when the voting machines put the Repub in. If anything these tactics turn votes to the Dem, at least in the long run.
