troubled by Gen. Powell helping to forward the McCain bill. I am sure someone can clarify it for me (or set me straight.) But I really do not want Colin Powell to garnish any credibility out of this. As far as I can see it, he knew that he was lying to the UN and he was the only one the World would trust from this war criminal bunch that we have in the White House, so a hugh chunk of the blame for the Iraq war lies on his shoulders and his political career should be ruined because of it!!!

Am I wrong???

In fact, I have been pissed off at Powell for a long time. If he was so upstanding and had such integrity, as the media likes to claim, he would have quit the Bush administration in the first year. I don't buy that he is doing anything except trying to save his own ass in the history books. Too late.

But I am glad he's doing it. It just doesn't redeem him in my eyes.

IMO,

Over the past few years Colin has probably had problems sleeping. I can't help but believe that Colin truly loves his country and especially the military.

We can imagine what it does to him learning and watching how Bush/Rummy are completely screwing up not just the US, but also the military. I also can't help but think that he himself feels a tad responsible.

I don't think that Colin will hold back if Bush/repubs starts attacking him. In fact, I think that he'll welcome it. I'm sure he's been waiting for an opportunity to get a few things off his chest.

Good for us.

as much as I was disappointed and angry with him for his participation in Iraq. I think deep down his love of country will bring him around to do the right thing. At least I hope so.

12. I suspect you're correct about Colin's sleeping problems.

I bet he sleeps fitfully most of the time. Because I think he MAY have a conscience, unlike bush. Hopefully he WILL unload on someone, but realistically, I doubt it. He's too busy taking the high road all the time and trying to stay above the fray to jump in with both feet and rough things up. Although I wish he would. And I suspect he does feel somewhat responsible. I sure think he is. All that needless bloodshed, violence, mayhem, chaos, destruction - all of it is on HIS hands, too.

14. Colin Powell may not have been the man many thought he was....

Do a search sometime in google on his military career...very ho hum...in fact I bet most of you didn't know...that he was the officer charged with investigating the massacre at My Lai...and he never even so much as interviewed the soldier who reported the incident...instead, he glossed it over and told his superior officer that he found no evidence to support the soldier's claim...We found out differently....

He did not have a distinquished career, by any stretch of the imagination...and how he got so high on the totem pole is anyone's guess...but it's no surprise that when he got where he did...he lacked enough integrity to do what he should have done, and called FOUL as loud as he could, exposing the bullshit that was going down to drag us into Iraq...his hands are red with the blood of all the individuals who have died as a result...

He's going to have to go a long long way to redeem himself...get started Colin...spill the beans...tell what you know...
