Diebold Hacking Demo Shown on Fox News
Edited on Sun Sep-17-06 12:06 PM by Vyan
Stop George from Dailykos, who posted the previous Princeton Video of a Diebold voting machine being hacked, has just posted another video of the very same Princeton people demonstrating how that very same machine can be fooled on Fox and Friends - and even they got it.

When you watch the video you will discover that, although not a lot of time is spent discussing this serious issue -- Professor Felten clearly shows the right-wingers that they have a lot to be concerned about. The bubble-head hosts even gasped and seemed to understand the seriousness of this demonstration.

And so, I think we have almost achieved a pivotal point in this whole saga of e-voting in America. RFK jr. et al's massive lawsuit against the e-voting companies (which they say will curl your toes) is expected to be front-page news within the next couple of weeks. And now, this issue is starting to gain wide political exposure on such programs as Lou Dobbs and Fox News. Yes, friends -- I have a feeling this story is going to go critical mass.

Watch, rate and share - even with all your wingnut friends.

Vyan

1. How about that?
Fox is ready to jump on the hacked election wagon when it looks like the Democratic Party is going to sweep the elections.

Bastards.

3. Two possible reasons: They are gonna steal this one the old fashioned way
-wide spread disenfranchising of legitimate voters and monkeying around with polling facilities to thwart voting.

AND: They read my suggestion that Hillary hire a hacker

4. That's true, but it's still good that they covered it
which is more than can be said for a lot of other stations. To convince people that this is an important issue, it must be stressed that it's just as possible for these machines to be manipulated in states and cities controlled by the Democrats, as in communities controlled by Republicans.

2. When Fox and Friends gets it, it must be that easy to hack into
a voting machine.

6. This means the pugs will accuse the Dems
of stealing the election in November. They may even do a pro-Dem hack just to back up their claims.

9. This is EXACTLY what Thom Hartmann has been saying for months--
The GOP is poised to scream ELECTION FRAUD if they don't win back the House and Senate. It is now an "okay" topic for right-wing channels.

13. Though that could backfire on them.
If they cry election fraud after the election the new Democratic Leadership could introduce a bill that would change the election system in this counrty which is what we Dems have been wanting since 2000.

*Early voting in all 50 states.

*Same type of voting machines in every precinct in the country.

*All votes must have a paper trail.

*Making the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November a national holiday.

*Sample ballots and election day info must be mailed to every registered voter atleast a week before election day by the city government (funding would come from the federal government).

8. I wait for the day the GE Murdoch Time-Warner say that the machines
are made and software designed by Republicans while installations, transfers of totals, maintenance and 'fixes', and storage are also done by Republicans. Plain and simple.

11. Notice the stressing of only 5% of voters use these machines.

That could possibly be one of the many nefarious reasons Fox would report the problem. ?

14. I am leary about this one. Why is FOX of all, taking up this issue?
Does the GOP have other plans to steal this fall's election?

15. One Does Wonder
if something is truly afoot, particularly with the Wapo hitting the issue today as well.
