6. I am restraining myself...
I will just say that I wish Skinner would look at who voted that way and, um, take appropriate action.

He can, after all, see who votes how, if I remember correctly from an AtA question about polls.

Unless the voter is a freep prowler, I would ask the person who voted that way: Why are you even at DU??? What's the point of being on a progressive forum if you support the most repressive administration in US history?

LoL
So you are saying that we need to have polls like the old Iraqi elections where once choice gets 100% of the vote.

IMO having a few votes for the bad choice is a good thing for polls regardless, it adds some credibility to it.

19. no but...
you seem to be advocating that people get tombstoned because they for whatever reasons chose to vote for the "wrong choice."

Whats the point of even having polls like this if you want them to always have 100% of the "right choice."

All these loyalty tests polls are really gettting annoying, how many have we had in just this past week, like 5 or 6?

23. How about I explicitly tell you what I advocate so you don't have to guess
A vote for Bush at this progressive website (for whatever reason, including protest that other choices aren't on the poll) is never the "right choice."

Read the DU rules and tell me where it says that Bush supporters are welcome at DU.

This polls author said that we could show our support of third party candidates by voting for Bush in this poll.

but as far as I am concerned, a third-party vote is a vote for Bush, so anyone who wishes to vote third-party in this poll, should just register that vote directly.

Also I think are you just getting your panties in a twist over a meaningless poll just because it didnt somehow automagically get 100% one way or the other.

44. One could say that a vote for Bush is a vote for a better Democratic Party
There is such a thing as long term thinking. Dems have been losing for a long time, and ironically, their 'do anything to win' strategy is probably the reason why.

Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 06:35 PM by Nederland
Before people flame me, what I would like to see is this:

Voting Third Party (I live in a non-swing state)

on edit, some people might want this too:

Voting Third Party (I don't see a difference between Dems and Repukes)

Note that I don't feel this way, but I'm betting a lot of people here do...

You don't try to be humorous, but I find this post SO DAMNED funny.

If you believe that there is no difference between the Bush administration and ANY DEMOCRATIC administration, you are wrong.

You want four more years of Bush? Fine, protest the Dem nominee; help Bush get re{s}elected We'll talk again in 2008--perhaps then you will have changed your opinion.

29. Your blind allegiance is frightening.
I am ABB in spirit, but not to the zealous point that I would put any incompetent hack in office. If we just choose "anyone" just to get rid of this current administration and he screws up the country, we have only ourselves to blame if we can't get another Dem in the white house for another decade.

I'm not voting for bush, nor am I voting for Kerry. I'd rather stay at home and watch reruns of the superbowl halftime.

30. Which one of our candidates is an "incompetent hack?"
I think any of the present field is MUCH better than what presently occupies the Oval Office.

I've been politically active since Carter, and can't say that any serious Democratic candidate would be worse than the Republicans who have held the presidential office.

It's not blind allegiance; it's a voice of experience from seeing the havok the Republican party has unleashed on our nation, and knowing that ANY Democratic challenger in the past 25 years would have been better than ANY Republican who has held office.

If a frog had wings, it wouldn't scrape its butt when it jumps. None of the Democrats running right now are as bad as the Republican one of them will face on November 2.

Stay home and watch reruns. That's a grand contribution to this nation. :eyes:

Am I correct that even NON-MEMBERS can vote in DU polls?

Surely no DU members voted for Bush? If so, I have to say that is the most ridiculous form of protest I have ever seen.

Free Republic will LOVE this poll...their boy carries a quarter of the vote even at our progressive web forum. Go figure.

37. This has been done at least a hundred million times...
and I get the feeling people are getting tired of it. That's probably the reason why you are starting to see a lot of polls with simply weird results.

A few days ago, Lieberman won a poll he obviously wasn't going to win here. Bush is now getting 14% of the vote here... I bet $5 that most of those who voted for Bush are simply protesting polls... or making them even more useless that what they are.
