61. Kind of strange that the media keeps telling us Hillary(no interview)clint
is the favorite according to the polls to win the nomination and we DUers reject her in droves. sounds like there throwing her down our throats.

6. Gore / Feingold
That's my dream ticket.

Clark - Love the guy, but I don't want him as President.
Hillary - She'd make a great President, except she's a war monger.
Obama - Below average Dem with not much more than charisma.. So far.

20. Clark followed by Gore and Feingold, the latter two a near toss up for me
And for those who say we need to be concentrating on the mid term elections, I agree, which is one of the many things I respect about Wes Clark. That is exactly what he is doing right now. The number of times he has campaigned in Iowa and New Hampshire this year can be counted on one hand, but Clark has been out there tirelessly working hard for Democrats in all of the States where we need to pick up seats this fall.

I like Obama but his time has not yet come. I do not want his relative inexperience to be used against him by someone like John McCain. By no stretch of the imagination do I believe that most Americans will view our nation and the world as being at Peace come the 2008 Elections. Democrats do not get to run against a discredited George W. Bush in 2008. I am confident that whoever the Republicans nominate will quickly move to distance himself from large portions of Bush's record. I think we need to present seasoned leadership to beat someone like McCain.

Gore and Clark share a lot of similar positions, and both have been around the world block enough to convince voters that they have some experience to back up their talk when it comes to world affairs. I prefer Wes Clark to Al Gore. I think Wes has a better chance of swaying Independents to vote Democratic than Al does. I think Clark's resume will provide many disgruntled Republicans the psychological cover they will need to leap political Parties to vote for a Democrat in 2008. Clark has become very skilled at countering Republican talking points during his stint as a FOX commentator, and doing so in a way that makes him more not less popular with FOX viewers in the process. That will serve Clark well in a General Election campaign.

Feingold in my opinion would benefit by spending 8 years as VP, because that would wash away the negatives that a sitting Senator running always has in a national election, and it would help dissipate some ingrained bias against him for being Jewish and/or not married that otherwise could hurt him in his first national run.

24. Gore or Edwards. I think HC may have to much baggage, Obama
doesn't have enough experience (but he is really good!), Clark would be a great VP for either! But, we don't matter anyway, the power that be's will choose for us.

38. A strong grassroots organization, though, can be extremely effective.
Just ask Joe Lieberman!

We have a hell of a lot of great people -- and the Republican field is incredibly weak.

I like our chances for this Nov. 7th and also for 08.

on this earth....and when the military industrial complex in reigned in by someone not attempting to "prove" themselves to be tough cause they ain't got no experience; someone who can just say NO...and understand PNAC and can show them the door.....

than after 8 years to clean that shit up....than any of the others will do.

I will say that Gore is my next choice. He didn't fire me up the first time at all, but he's got experience.....so that's why.

Ditto Kerry.... but I don't think he can win at this point.

Considering the issues that need to be resolved in Iraq, Iran, Israel/Palistinians, hell...the whole middle east, China, Russia and North Korea I'm not playing russian roulette with any of the rest.

Plus to be honest with you.....I've had it up to "here" with political posturing and the whole playing the game to lose.

30. Clark Pres. , Obama VP
Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 07:34 AM by capi888
I would like to see both on the ticket. Clark with his international respect & knowledge, military expertise, and his stated stands on policies, would have the best chance of getting the U.S. on the road to peace. Obama, very well liked, fair, young, VP experience in his first term as a Senator, would keep the Senate on the right track, and able to support Clark in making policies. This would give him the experience needed to be President in future election. At this point we must consider, who is most able to end the mess in the ME, created by present admin, with experience in foreign affairs. Its not about, popularity, its about who is most experienced in solving problems, we are facing that are critical to our safty here and in the World.
For me NO Senators that have served and supported this war!! Or who has been supported by Lobbiest..just my 2 cents!
I supported the Kerry Edwards, Gore campaign, but we need to not have the old talking points, brought out in this election from KK, GOP, we have to hit the ball out of the park, put people with fresh solutions to the problems and not have to rehash, explain the past. We would be constantly defending the he said , she said, and would be right up the ally of GOP talking points.
