If you believe we do please take a few seconds and type up quick email.
Let them know we are out here in cy-ber land and we will join anyone in the call to preserve basic standards of justice and due process, and respect all past precedents laid down by our Supreme Court.

Thought I am not poet, here were my words:

President George W. Bush
Senator Mel Martinez
Senator Bill Nelson
Representative Corrine Brown

I strongly oppose any legislation that would authorize indefinite detention, unfair trials and immunity for torture and cruel treatment. This is a nation of laws – keep it that way.

These rules of war, these laws have a history and a reason for their existence, our American soldiers. They can not and should not be changed to serve one man or his administration. They have served this nation well as they are written now. They represent what this nation and it's people are about, the rule of law above all else even terrorism and the fear if drives. If we do not continue our tradition to respect the Geneva Conventions then we are opening Pandora's box on our own citizens, our soldiers not just those of other nations.

This change must not happen to us and our elected representatives should accept the conscious of a great nation which still lives in the heart of every good citizen. The majority (which still rules) does not accept torture in any form and never will (look at the polls). Stop trying to change our core values and principles, let us continue to live in the belief that what defines us as a nation, as a country, will never be taken from us, shall never bend to a whim.

That we can still on some level stand tall against the darkness which throws shadows on us every day. The shadows will fade with time as they always do but the rules which guide our lives, our nation must remain steadfast and secure for liberty and happiness to be possible pursuits, for freedom to remain our mat-ra, so the glory of our red, white, and blue will remain brightly shining even in our darkest days.

Our greatness lives and breathes, it is defined by such rules, such laws for ALL, it is by definition the sign of our own humanity as it always must.
