This "Devil" thing will help Bushco & Repubs
My wife came home and told me the ladies at the office "closed ranks" around * after the news got around today and on top of last nite.

I guess the good old USA is like a dysfunctional family. Fight like hell inside but do not let an outsider get involved. Sorta like a man beating a woman but when the cops arrive the woman fights the cops. Go figure!?

1. It seems to me that if people rally around the idiot-in-chief
because someone called him "the devil", those people are too far gone, anyhow. It sounds like they are all drinking from the fountain of Kool-Aid.

Maybe they feel like Chavez is picking on their "not so bright" brother and feel they need to protect him?

People are strange, strange, strange.

2. I thought the same.
Although I fail to understand why anybody would defend the Pretzel, it is a predicable response... like when bin Laden's tape was released right before the 2004 election. People are so simple. It's depressing.

12. Me too, but who knows...

I didn't think Chavez did the American opposition any favors there.

But hysteria-based things like this have turned 180 before -- e.g. Shiavo.

10. Not at all.
Sailors would bitch all the time about their ship. Let anyone else speak ill of her though and you would have a huge brawl on your hands. Only that particular ship's crew was allowed to bad mouth her.

5. W is the one that brought evil into this whole mess
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 07:19 PM by Erika
Chavez just beat him at his own game.

I winced when W started with all the "axis of evil" and evil doers garbage. Chavez just threw it back at the W.

15. Most Americans do not support Bush,
most are not going to close ranks around the most despised president ever.

9. We are deservedly a laughing stock.
I never dreamt I would see the day. How we have fallen in the eyes of the world, it is one thing to be bullies and perhaps even oafs, but now we are simply pathetic. we receive emergency aid from indonesia and need it. Look at poor NOLA, the people there suffer still and the majority here in the good ol' US of A care not one whit.

11. The 40-percent of sheep fuckers that think Bush is Gawd's anointed one
will be the only ones that will take exception to Chavez's UN remarks. Those that take the trouble to read Chavez's speech, or watch the webcast on the UN website, will agree that Chavez was right on target, just as Noam Chomsky was in the book that Chavez recommended.

17. if it does, we were screwed anyway
If the Democrats' chances in November hinge on the predictable remarks of foreign leaders, we've done such a crappy job of explaining why we're better for the country that we don't deserve to win.

18. Everything helps the GOP
Polls up, polls down, torture alleged, torture verified, rumors of war, actual war, everything "helps" the Republicans, because the default mode of the popular media is to defend whatever whacko idea floats out of the corrupt Bush administration.
