Simple question: Are Repubs saying it is OK to torture ?
I understand they reached a "compromise"? Did they all agree that what the CIA was doing to prisoners in secret prisons was OK? Because Americans "don't torture people" - as our CIC has said on numerous occasions. So what did they compromise upon? Did they agree to stop torturing? Or to just call it something else. "Aggressive interrogation" perhaps?

I know they are doing this in our names but I feel totally helpless to do anything about it. Where is the opposition Party on this matter? Have they just not had time to assimilate or to find out what the "compromise" actually was? This is a terrible feeling to feel so helpless and at the mercy of such people. Does anyone else feel similarly? How difficult can it be to make an announcement that we do not condone torture?

All I can say is, "Keep on fighting!" 'Cause we sure as hell are not going to surrender to these fascists. I do not think I am exaggerating at all. These people are intent on destroying our nation.

1. They're saying don't be bleeding hearts when it comes to their safety.
It's like the human part of them just died inside.

3. Torturing foreigners is unAmerican
and certainly not Christian. I've never felt worse about the moral compass of our country.

Every Arab caused 9-11. Kill em all, but torture them first.

8. American's don't torture
That's why we send them to our friends the Syrian's for some nice torture.

How come not one of these interviews of Bush the last week came back with a question asking if he thought
it was ok that we send prisoner's to be tortured by others by proxy.

10. they are sadists, pure & simple. torture doesn't work, so why do it?
The fact that torture produces only answers that the torturer wants to hear, with no semblance of truth, needs to be hammered on, day and night. Since it doesn't work, there is no reason other than pure sadism to engage in it.

12. The program will continue.
It will never be called Torture. It is only alternative Interrogation Methods or Agressive Interrogation. Ya see, it is all in the phrasing. Nothing will change. The Dems will yelp a bit then go along as usual. America has changed. A Fascist Police State will soon be that change but it will be called Christian Freedom.

13. Like you, I've been searching for information about exactly
what this compromise means. Saying "we have a compromise" isn't good enough for me. I want to know exactly what they are allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do. I want to know if Article 3 is in or out. I want the specifics and I'm getting sick and tired of being force fed Republican bullshit about "compromises." It's either torture or it's not. Which is it?
