The 'rumor' of the 'threat' by the US to Pakistan .....
.... am I mistaken, or wasn't this more or less common knowledge in the time between 9/11 and the invasion of Afghanistan? Or am I misremembering or otherwise deluded?

2. I'm calling bullshit on this story.
So Bush was "taken aback" by Musharrif's comments and Armitage says he "doesn't recall" making them
Yeah, why would they threaten a country that armed the Taliban, and helped the Taliban rise to power?
A country that hired Al Qaeda operatives to fight in Kashmir and whose intelligence chief
apparently paid Mohamed Atta $100,000 right before 911.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/html/uncomp/articleshow?msid=107432
A country who bribed the 911 commission to remove references to it from the final report.
http://www.telegraphindia.com/1060313/asp/nation/story_5962372.asp
A country who as we speak is giving refuge to Al Qaeda and Bin Laden.

Yeah Mr. President I'm shocked the General would say such a thing. After all, like you say they
have been such a valuable ally in the war on terror.

The whole Pakistan hypocrisy stinks to high heaven.
