We Should Have Thousands in the Streets to Protest Bush!!!!
Why is there practically Nothing going on??? I am so angry at this President, at the national media. The Hungarians are protesting their leader for lying to their nation, and demanding he step down.
http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?threadID=3975&&edition=2&ttl=20060924212146 In Ukraine they had an election similar to ours in 2004, and they demanded a recount. In Mexico, the opposition party which narrowly
lost recently vows to set up a shadow government after a court decided on "electing" the victor instead of recounting everything.
But here in the USA, our national idiot in chief lies every time he opens his mouth, he has caused the deaths of untold thousands in a country which posed no threat to our republic, he's send 2700 soldiers to their deaths and lied to them about why our military is there, and where are the nationwide protests??? Huh? At first there were a few, but come on people, where are the protests???
I find it unfathomable that ANYONE, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, whatever could even possibly support this emperor(!), and yet I heard his approval ratings are at 44%!!!! Who are these people!
ON October 5th, join World Cant Wait and protest this regime!!!! I will be there, damb straight. Go to http://www.worldcantwait.net/
The USA is so behind the rest of the world, why? Because the media constantly lies to us, because they are not doing a good enough job exposing the rampant corruption, Jesus!!! I could go on and on and on, I saw that headline on the BBC's site, and I just had to rant about the resolute apathy and almost complete approval the American public has givin by default to these fascists. It makes my head swim with disgust and bile.
Thank you DU, for providing this forum.

5. Because that did so much good for the War on Iraq.
We hit the streets to stop that.

Worked real well.

6. You're not the first one to say this
And you won't be the last. People here aren't interested in "doing", only "talking". Believe me, I share in your frustration.

8. There are protests going on all the time, but the media avoids them
Each and every week there are protests, just a couple of days ago twenty seven hundred people lined the streets in NY to protest bushco and to honor the twenty seven hundred deaths in Iraq. Only one paper reported it in the back pages. The granny brigade just got arrested again this week, also with very little fanfare in the media.

In Chicago a protest or two or three are going on almost every weekend.

If a tree falls in a forest and doesn't get reported, does anyone know it fell?

18. Yes.
I know a lot of people would say "why can't you take a day off from work?" to which I reply "why can't the protest be held on a Saturday?" I also wonder what the plans to try to publicize it are. As has been pointed out above, it won't have much effect if it doesn't get reported.

Not severely criticizing, though--I'm glad someone is trying to organize something national.

11. I've Been Saying This For Months & Months.... I've Gotten So Little
re-action that I've stopped doing it! I know I started posting it at least 6 months or more ago!

I DO realize that marches MAY not be the answer, but SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!

I pleaded with others to see if we could connect with a group or other people who could get this off the ground, but have never gotten any support. I know I don't know how to get it off the ground on a larger stage. So I decided to work locally, but I'm truly depressed and cynical and feel pretty hopeless and HELPLESS!

I keep hearing it over and over and over.... Democrats HAVE No Plan! Yes, Democrats do have a plan, but every plan just gets shot out of the water by MSM or the powers that be. Their message is basically Democrats Have No Plan, and I see it's working AGAIN!! The really sad part is that those of us who truly understand and see what is going on will be in the same SINKING boat as the idiots who will vote to put us there ONE MORE TIME!!!

12. I HAVE been on the street.
Many have. Many have taken to the streets here and all over the world to let Bush know what they think. But there is a uselessness about it because we all know that he doesn't care about what we think. The only hope we have is to go to the polls on November 7th.

15. I WILL Vote... I ALWAYS Vote... But Living Here In Florida
or perhaps anywhere.... do you REALLY think electronic voting is SECURE???

They've done it before, they'll do it again and we are F--ked! I won't let that keep me FROM voting, but it doesn't give me much assurance.

As I've stated before, where I live we had to get petitions signed simply to get a referendum put on the ballot so the whole District can vote for a paper trail. The Commissioners voted it down, but it went to court, we got good news that it should be put on the ballot, but it's still not a "done deal", we'll know more after 10-13-2006! If we are getting so much opposition from the people in power here, I suspect they have some good reason for it! And I DON'T think the reason is something I am in favor of.

I ABSOLUTELY believe that the elections in THIS county and in THIS state were fraudulent ever since 2000! I once thought I might have room for argument as to why I MIGHT be wrong, now I no longer even entertain the thought that I'm wrong!

But even if it will be rigged again, at least I can say I did vote! I know many many people around here who ARE NOT going to vote because of the fraud. Believe me, I keep trying to get them to vote and I will keep on them, but some I don't know that well! They are simply "tuned out & turned off" and that is a TRAVESTY!!

I too have marched, in what were pathetic marches.... 200 people here or there.... we NEED something NATIONAL for those of us in counties like mine to participate in. It's damn hard hard work getting people to help out anymore! I know, I volunteer ALL THE TIME!

14. because the media's job IS to lie to us...we just weren't made
aware of that little detail. they are not there to inform us rather to put out constant propaganda telling us the stories that they want us to believe. they're there to make believe that we have a democracy going on in this country.
i don't know what the answer is. i know that we've gotten nowhere writing to this person and that person. they don't give 2 shits. it's just like a big frickin game...and we ain't winning.

17. 4 words
We will be ignored. I now believe the time where speech actually works has now died a while ago. If you wanna protest, you need to push the envelope. REALLY push it.

20. The Point Is, We Need to. If Not Us, Who?
I am going. That is it. I work 60 hours a week, and I am going. A weekday? That is the point. The Latinos protested on a weekday. If you can't afford it, don't go. The UFPJ regularly has meetings in my area, don't know about the rest of you.
The larger point is this: What is wrong with America??? Will it take gas getting up to $4 a gallon for Americans to be outraged? Why were there thousands upon thousands worldwide protesting against the Iraq war when it started, yet not so many here in America. That is what really disturbs me, that my country cannot or will not trouble itself to get out of its disturbed sense of comlacency.
If you can't protest, support the White Rose Society, like I do, or DU, or buy liberal book or something. They are forcing Tony Blair out of office, why can't we force our president out of office.(I know I am probably dreaming in LSD land on that one). Better yet, support independant media, or talk or make noise to everyone you know.
I'll keep you all posted, and keep the faith.
