To those who follow Coingate: Did you know...
...that Tom Noe's wife, Bernadette, works for Jeb Bush's administration in Florida? When I found this out today, I was shocked. Noe rips off the state of Ohio for millions -- with a lot of help from the GOP, then his wife gets a job with the state of Florida? WTF? I'd love to know how that was arranged.

3. They used to live in Ohio ... had a vacation home in FL, which is now home
Noe plead guilty to the illegal fundraising for Bush/Cheney and was sentenced to 27 months. He doesn't go to lockup till after his October trial on the Coingate charges. Meanwhile, he and Bernadette live in a $4.7 million waterfront home in FL.

Bernadette is a lawyer and is working in some FL state agency that looks out for children in some way. Not sure what it's called. When she recently did an interview with The Blade (Toledo newspaper), off the table was any discussion of her job, at her employer's request (that was noted by the interviewer, so readers of that interview knew talk of her job was off limits, not they weren't told that she works for Jeb & Co.

I've posted this elsewhere, but in case you missed it -- go to http://wtol.com and scroll down the page a bit and you'll find a link to video interviews with Bernadette and Tom at their Florida home. It is really one of the most disgusting things I've seen in recent memory. They are trying to rehabilitate their images by talking about their strengthened love and their deepening faith in God. There's even video of them singing at church, along with mushy hugs and kisses and barefoot walks on the beach. It is truly awful crap.

4. I don't know if there's even any coverage of the Noes there.
I was told tonight, when mentioning how aghast I was re Mrs. Noe's employment, that the Toledo newspaper mentioned the job in passing quite a while ago and no noise ever arose from that. I really don't think many people know this about her, but I got it from someone who knows.

6. More info on Bernadette's job
I looked up the old Blade article that mentions Bernadette's job. Here's what it said:

In mid-November, she began to work as a staff attorney for the guardian ad litem program in the Upper and Middle Keys, “which means I work to protect children in abusive situations,” Mrs. Noe said in a Nov. 21 e-mail to friends.

In 2002, Ohio Gov. Bob Taft appointed Mrs. Noe to the Governor’s Council on Juvenile Justice.

Officials from Florida’s guardian ad litem program did not return calls seeking comment about how she got the job and whether Florida officials knew that Ohio officials have alleged that millions in Ohio coin-fund money flowed through the account she shares with her husband.

The rest of the article is very interesting: http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051227/NEWS24/51227003

I googled the guardian ad litem program:
