Dean stole Rick Santorum's act!
Actually, I don't think this post belongs in this forum, but am afraid it will get locked if I mention Howard Dean's name in it, as I must if I post it in generic General Discussion.

While digging up stuff on Pennsylvania's Most Cherished Asshole, Rick Santorum (Facist-PA) I came across a little audio clip that comes from the All Night Republican Rave, where the Republicans pushed through the new Medicare bill under the cover of night.

Here's the clip:
http://www.streamload.com/damfa/who_knows.wav

Gee -- does this guy sounds *nuts* or what? Yeah, we all know he talks nuts and thinks nutty things, but (ha ha) anyone want to venture why the networks didn't play this little gem 24/7, to show America how unbalanced Rick Santorum is? Or even remind people who already know it?

But Howard Dean goes yee-haa before his most ardent supporters (largely exaggerated by the mike lead), and they're talking like he's Bellevue material, not President material -- and Ricky Rat flips out like *this* on the Senate Floor -- and not only does it not get airplay but now he's running Bush's re-Inaugural Campaign?

Anyone who can help me hunt down the actual C-SPan footage of Rick acting out on the floor of the Senate will be much appreciated.

In the meantime, dearies -- I say
Pound them!
Pound them!
Pound them!

As Aragorn told the Elf Army in The Two Towers -- :Show them no mercy, for you will receive none from them."

1. My favorite Santorum rant
Was the first time I ever saw him. It was during debate on one of the late-term abortion votes during the Clinton administration. He wound up near the end yelling, "INFANTICIDE! INFANTICIDE! INFANTICIDE!" with spittle literally spraying from his lips. It was the most completely deranged thing I have ever seen.

3. Thanks for sharing
Gee -- that's one I hadn't heard before.

I'll stick it in the archives, and try to hunt down the original -- I bet C-Span has it somewhere.

I'm working with a group of people here in PA that:
1) works to oust Bush in '04
2) then is going after Santorum.

I'm putting together a multimedia presentation about the rich legacy of lunacy that Santorum represents.

Trouble is -- I have not been in PA very long so don't have acquaintance with Rick's less recent madness. If you have any other Rick tales to tell, I would be most grateful if you would share them as well.

5. Santorum's Hypocrisy on Tort Reform
Do you have the goods on his tort reform hypocrisy? Ricky has always been a big proponent of a $250,000 cap on medical malpractice. But when his wife was injured by a chiropractor, they sued for $500,000.

I live in PA too, and I talk Santorum down with neighbors & friends every chance I get.

7. Can you help me?
I tried to PM you, but didn't succeed.

Sounds like you are an excellent resource on All Things Rick.

I sure could use some help with defining the message of my multimedia presentation. I'm the "filmmaker" looking for some "writers" or "researchers."

PM and I will tell you more about it. If we can informally hook up and if you would be kind to put me in your "GAAD! Did you hear what the idiot did NOW?" loop -- I would be most grateful.

Thank you SO much for the tort reform information. All the sticks I can find to beat this little creep with, the better.

2. Santorum IS nuts,
despicable, sanctimonious, homophobic, hypocritical, pretentious, and vain.

A friend had lunch with dear Ricky several years ago. She told me that he kept looking at himself in a mirror that was across from his seat at the table. She said it was very annoying to try to talk with someone who was more interested in admiring his reflection than engaging in conversation.

4. I am thinking of starting a bumper-sticker campaign now
Not too early to start -- before Rick has a chance to play "Make Believe I'm a Moderate" when he comes up for (retch!) re-election.

Something like: ANYONE'06: Because Santorum is Nuts"

Whattcha think?

I just keep thinking of that TV commercial he ran in 2000 in which he trotted out his whole family, all 6 kids. :puke:

10. Two reasons
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 10:08 AM by chookie
1) Like Bush, his base is the religiously insane -- who are very energetic campaign workers and voters.

2) He runs as a moderate. No, I am not making that up.

To think we went from a man of the caliber of John Heinz -- our beloved Teresa's first husband -- to this religiously insane dork.

I was not in the state during that election (I'm a transplanted Floridian, andn we had our own problems there!!) -- but I have it inked into my social calendar for the next few years -- "BOOT SANTORUM!!"

Our beloved Teresa has no use for the idiot either -- I'm sure she will help us when the time comes.

PS I LOVE that photo you post of the Kerrys and the former President. I've had goosebumps all along imagining what a First Lady Teresa will be like, and I am starting to get goosebumps thinking about a Kerry WH.

Also thinking of another bumper sticker campaign for here in Pittsburgh or even PA -- "Teresa for First Lady." She is ADORED here -- and getting Pittsburgh to love you is one of the hardest things you can do!

9. I happened to be watching that night/morning
And I was positive (p)Rick was going to blow a gasket.

Straight into the Memory Hole.

Just wait until Kerry makes some tiny slip up and then Wolf Blitzer and Judy Woodruff will be all over him, also. It's simply a matter of time.
