So I've noticed a few people with freeper accounts have posted links to the Freeper thread in 1998, where they went ape shit that Clinton was bombing bin Laden camps in Afghanistan:

In every discussion, where the misnamed freerepublic.com is mentioned, explain their blatant, reekin' hypocrisy. They rewrite their history, because it embarrasses them. Orwell would be proud.

3. DU deletes threads sometimes,

but not because of a desire to rewrite history. It's pretty much only done for flagrant and major rule violations, and is done pretty much immediately. They have never gone back and removed an archived thread because things people were saying then would embarrass us now.
