Wow - Keith's rantings have boosted ratings 33 percent!
"Howard Beale (the "I'm not going to take this anymore!" anchor in Network) would come to me and say, 'Back off a little, pal.' " Olbermann's four "special comments" since Aug. 30 have driven ratings up 33% to 495,000. "You can't do it every night. It becomes insincere; people who do it become caricatures of themselves."

That's nothing to sneeze at!

5. Last night, GE/NBC did the next best thing
During last night's NBC Nightly News, they aired a commercial for MSNBC's Countdown, specifically highlighting the special comment by Mr. Olbermann. It was obviously on the national feed (although either the network or local affiliates may have substituted other ads in that spot).

Could it be that GE smells the blood in the water and are positioning themselves appropriately?

8. BTW - you can call NBC and leave a pro-Keith comment
at (212) 664 - 4444.

MSNBC's number is (201) 583 - 5000.

The more noise is made BY Keith, the more noise WE should make FOR Keith. They'll be listening. They won't be able to avoid it. They may even do something (positive) about it.

2. Keith reminds me of this generation's Edward R Murrow.
I think Murrow would be happy that Keith is using his sign-off.

6. He has been taking shots for a long time now ...
but it seems that more the tide has started to turn, the more his ratings have increased, he has really started to cut loose ... No doubt, he is the ONLY cable news guy going who is not a tool of the republican propoganda machine ...

9. I don't think they dare - now.
He's got too much momentum. Too much terrific street talk. His following is loud, vocal, and unrelenting. You know, kinda like the Xtian "right" ballooning themselves up to more gross proportions than their numbers actually merit. The difference, however, is that they are on a downward spiral. OUR pro-Olbermann movement is gaining ground, and speed. WE are on the way UP. And BELIEVE me they're noticing. They may not be able to do much, outwardly (or it might seem that way), but they're noticing. Which is why keeping the drumbeat going, and turning up the volume, is CRITICALLY important. Because with Keith, we FINALLY have a voice. FINALLY. He is indeed like the fabled Howard Beale. The network programmer character, Diana Christensen, said of him that "he's articulating the popular rage." And Olbermann is doing EXACTLY that - articulating a popular rage that is ONLY starting to snowball. Pretty soon WE will be the "mushroom cloud."
