What's Been Missing?
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 09:28 AM by kentuck
The truth. When the truth is hid away or people are afraid to speak it, lies and evil takes its place. That is what has happened in the last six years. The media can rationalize that if they had told the truth, it may have put our country at more of a threat. So they went along with the lies of this Administration and, at times, assisted them in their deceit. Judith Miller comes to mind.

Just this morning, Condileezza Rice is reported as saying that Bill Clinton was "wrong". The Bush Administration did "at least" as much as the Clinton Administration. Let's hope the truth continues to assert iself. The Bush Administration did nothing, absolutely nothing to fight Osama and terrorism before 9/11. The sad truth is they did not take it seriously. Condileezza lied.

The truth has been "missing" because the Democratic Party could not unite behind the truth. For whatever reasons, they supported Bush and the "war on terror" and the war in Iraq. Most likely, they did it out of fear of political repercussions. However, Bill Clinton has let the truth out of the box. Perhaps he had the key all along?

The question now is whether or not the Democrats will get behind the truth and stop fearing the political consequences. Put the truth out front. George W Bush and Dick Cheney were asleep at the wheel and they had other "priorities" after the election of 2000. Defending the country was not one of their priorities.

They demoted Richard Clark, who had worked for every President since Reagan, as if Condi Rice could handle the job all by herself? They made "terrorism" a low priority. They ignored intelligence, such as "Bin Laden Determined to Strike US". They were on vacation. The truth may hurt but it is necessary if we are to remain a free country.

2. It's been supplanted by truthiness, which to the GOP is good enough
and in most cases BETTER than the AWFUL TRUTH.

Speaking of THE AWFUL TRUTH, wouldn't it be lovely if Michael Moore would do another season of that wonderful show? Oh, the topics he could take on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
