Bush: Greatest danger to America is premature withdrawal from Iraq


President Bush counterpunched at Democrats on Thursday, saying their criticism of the war in Iraq has turned their party into one of "cut-and-run" obstructionists. At a GOP fundraiser, Bush accused Democrats of using a new intelligence estimate that ties the war in Iraq to rising extremism to win votes in November.

The National Intelligence Estimate - compiled by leading analysts across 16 U.S. spy agencies - concluded that Iraq has become a "cause celebre" for jihadists, who are growing in number and geographic reach. If the trend continues, the analysts found, risks to U.S. interests at home and abroad will rise.

The greatest danger to America is not the U.S. military presence in Iraq, but rather a premature withdrawal of U.S. forces from the war-torn nation, Bush said. With 40 days left before the Nov. 7 elections, Bush is pushing back against Democrats who point to setbacks in Iraq, a resurgence of violence in Afghanistan - and now the new report - as evidence that the nation needs a change in political leadership.

The stakes in the war - and the election - are high, Bush said. "Five years after 9-11, Democrats offer nothing but criticism, and obstruction and endless second guessing," Bush said. He said the Democratic Party - the party of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Harry Truman - has become the "party of cut-and-run."

6. In a way he's right. He has fucked it up so badly that if we ever left
the god damn place, some really bad ass guys will set up shop in all the chaos and cause some real problems. So, I guess I have to agree, it has created a world class all time historic fucked up situation that has no solution.

Just 4 planes and W invites the Saudi prince to his Texas estate.

Just 4 planes, the histrionics have been terrible...but look how W's corporate friends benefited.

Just 4 planes, and W wants to rewrite our constitution. How very pathetic we're led by a frat brat rich chickenhawk clucker whose friends profit from terra...terra...terra...then some more of terra.

is in having a self-absorbed, arrogant, corrupt man who has been illegally installed as president, and a Republican Party who are in the majority,and who refuse to carry out the oaths they swore when they took office. The do not preserve and protect the Constitution. Instead, they fight to retain power for the wealth they can grab, and cater to a dangerous religious force who is willing to restore Old Testament standards, regardless of how harsh and cruel they seem to us today.

The conservative members of Congress will not cede their power, and the wealth that it gains for them, in order to keep America a free and democratic country. They are not willing to risk their own comfort in order to put a screeching halt to Bush's ever scarier quest for absolute power.

All we have now is each other, and men and women regardless of wealth, or poverty, and race, or ethnic origin, or sexual orientation, who are willing to preserve our freedom. We are not trying to do anything that is counter to the laws that our Founding Fathers put into effect when we won the right to establish our own government.

We do not want war, we do not want violence, nor do we seek to invade countries which are not a threat, in order to further some right-wing agenda which demands that the rest of the world dance to whatever tunes the neocons play. I only want to make the Preamble to the Constitution, which is " We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America," be the basis of our behavior.

No place in the Preamble, or in the Bill or Rights, or the Constitution itself, is there a provision for torture, starting wars, and turning over to the president powers which were granted to the other two branches of government. We are all familiar with the letters WWJD, or what would Jesus do. Because we have no established religious sect, instead, think of the answer to this..."What Would Jefferson Do?" Somehow, I can not picture the man Thomas Jefferson was, in any comparison to the president we have today, or his actions.

We need to go back to the bedrock of our country's beginning, and begin a return to the lofty ideals on which our country was founded. We may not have always lived up to the image America has had in this world, but we need to try.
