Wisconsin's Governor Doyle to ENDORSE WESLEY CLARK this Sunday!
here are the details:
Sorry, I couldn't find the thread where someone said he was going to be in Madison.
First, a word to the wise: if the initial response is
any indication, Wes Clark's appearance in Racine this
Sunday will be overflowing with supporters. PLEASE
NOTE: we asked folks on this Email Alert List to let
us know if they would be attending Sunday--NOT because
we are reserving seats or space, but because we wanted
to get a rough estimate on the potential turn-out for
our own planning purposes. Accordingly, EVEN IF you
have reported your intention to attend the event,
PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY--no seats are reserved! The event
is open to the public. Seating is first-come,
first-served. And we expect quite a crowd!

Now, on to the anxiously-awaited details:

General Wes Clark will be Governor Doyle's guest
for a jobs forum entitled "Working for Wisconsin."

DATE: Sunday, February 8

TIME: 1:45 - 3:00 p.m. Doors open at 1:30. Attendees
are encouraged to arrive early, as seating is limited.
Media availability with General Clark will
immediately follow the forum from 3:00 to 3:15.

PLACE: Racine Labor Center, 2100 Layard Avenue,
Racine, Wisconsin

The event is open to the public and to the press.

Hope to see you all there! Wear those Clark04 shirts
and buttons!
Beth Donahue

WisconsinForClark

Barbara Laughton the Lt. Governor of Wisconsin has already endorsed Clark, and even spoken for Clark on the campaign trail. Doyle's endorsement was just being held until Clark won a state.

They are good friends. She was told by Laughton. We also ride a Packer bus with John Bruske and his brother State Senator Roger Bruske(D).This is big inside info, and you read it here first. Someone told me they also saw it on Buzzflash. My sister is a delegate and a well respected teacher for close to 20 years. I swear to you this is true.

I was just about to log off too, and did a double-take.

I should leave while I'm ahead, and have pleasant dreams.

I had a really cool dream about Clark and the primaries last night, but if I tell it will shake my faith that it's a sign... :)

I keep driving past these Kerry signs with the slogan "The Real Deal."

They should say "The Real Dealer."
'Cause he's a classic wheeler dealer shape shifting pol.

Wesley Clark - *He's* the Real Real Deal.

13. I received the email
and there is nothing in to indicate that Gov. Doyle is endorsing the General. I read just tonight that Doyle said he probably wont be endorsing anyone. This event in Racine was postponed from an earlier date. I may be wrong and hope I am. Doyle is my Gov and I and many others have written him asking for his support for Wes Clark. Maybe he is listening.

Yahoo! News Fri, Feb 06, 2004

"I would be very happy with any one of the leading candidates," said Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle. "I will probably not endorse before the primary."

It is nice to see that a some prominent elected Dems still consider the nomination an open battle.

The flood of Kerry endorsements this week has gotten so much press attention that it would be nice to see some of that attention finally going to Clark.

I really don't want to see this nomination fight end for a while yet. :-)

EDIT: Changed subject line after reading post #13 placing this endorsement into some doubt.

EDIT AGAIN: Ah, sounds like it's probably true after all, now that I've read the thread in full. :-)

37. Wish they'd wait until Wednesday
I wish they'd wait on having Gov Doyle endorse Wes until next Wednesday, right after VA & TN.

As it stands, a Sunday endorsement may be minimized by Kerry winning VA & TN on Tuesday. However, even with Kerry winning next Tuesday, if Clark were to beat Edwards in both states and *THEN* Gov Doyle endorsed him, I think the endorsement would provide a bigger boost -- and would further distance Clark from Edwards. Sort of a slingshot effect.

Sorry, but I don't see anything there saying that Gov Doyle is going to endorse Clark . . . just that he wll be appearing with Clark.

Am I missing something???

on edit: sorry, saw that Mobius said he heard from reliable sources. Hope it's true . . . would be a shot in the arm.

42. What I've heard so far
The Racine event has been planned for awhile. Not an endorsement, from what I've heard. They're just appearing together.

Lt. Gov. Lawton is in charge of Clark's Wisconsin campaign. Definitely a HUGE supporter from the beginning.

according to a ARG:

He's ahead of Dean and Edwards. Maybe this endorsement will put him within striking distance of Kerry.
