Interesting comment by Dean on CNN today.

When asked if Democrats could win.

He said if the election were held today, we would win both houses and most of the govenorships. Heidi asked about later, would they win in November.

What he said was easy to interpret as saying he did not know what would happen between now and then.

The transcript is not up yet, but he said that the Republicans were not very good at governing....but they were VERY good at winning elections.

He gave a sort of half grin or wince...or whatever you might call it. He was confident we would win now, but not confident about later...could he also be expecting a surprise?

to know that the repukes have lots of money for attack ads and they intend to spend it to win. His assessment is just honest.

so I'm sure that plays a role in any speculative statement he'll make in the run up to the election.
