Forget party and politics for just a moment .....
..... just for this thread, suspend your disbelief. There are no parties and politics doesn't matter.

In yesterday's vote, who among those who have a D after their names would, if left to their own devices, would support the elimination of habeus corpus? Which of them would condone torture?

In the larger picture, which of our elected officals with a D after their name would not want to change the course of the country from the disaster that has been the last six years?

Forget their votes - remember, this is a fantasy thread - which of them would, in a different world, support what we've been subjected to?

Don't just throw a name. Add some substance to your assertions.

1.  NONE of them. There constituents made them do it.
That's all I can say at the moment...I'm out of here. Already did my dirty work!

2. All that supported the
other amendments did so for a reason, because the bill that passed unamended was wrong. They said that when they spoke or at least voted that way. So how could they then in conscience vote for the bill that they did vote for if it needed amendments?

3. I'd go a step further.
If this had happened in a fantasy world with no "politics," I suspect that a large number of those who have an "R" after their names also would not have supported this garbage.

4. Context
If this were 1998 and Bill Clinton were trying to get this bill through Congress, nobody that voted in favor this time would have done so then. Not even Holy Joe.

Not even the day after the attack on the Cole.
