The ONLY reason I will vote for Senator Bill Nelson
Bill Nelson has disappointed me way too often and several of his latest votes evoke absolute dispair. He voted against the Feinstein amendment regarding landmines and now for the Bush Torture Bill.

I am disheartened to say the least. This post explains a bit more on why that is. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2854006&mesg_id=2854031

But I will vote for him. Why? Because he's needed as a number. That's all he is to me as a democrat. A number. Perhaps number 51 or 52, hopefully higher than that. I'm stuck with him as the Democratic candidate so he's a warm body to give us a majority in the Senate. I guess I'll have to rely on the other members of his party to do what's right once they are in power.

1. That's unconscionably sad.
I have to vote for Maria Cantwell. I have to go into a polling place and vote for someone who has proven irrefutably that she does not respect the Constitution of the United States and will freely ignore her oath of office when it's politically expedient.

I hate this.

2. Welp.. look at your other option Mr. Coffee :o( ....
Mike McGavick (sp?) has been big news here in Anchorage since he and the others who secretly referred to themselves as the "Corrupt Bastards Club" are being investigated by the FBI big time!!!

I sure hope he's making as much news there as he is HERE.. He's one nasty, corrupt, dirty SOB who is heavily tied into the Veco Scandal..

Funny, I haven't seen much of that in the local press...
here in Washington. Can the Bushbots control the press that well?

4. I know. I'm honestly conflicted between the following options:

1) Exercise my conscience and vote for everyone but Cantwell (not pukes, just not vote for the Senate race); or

2) Vote for her because she is a number.

3. I feel the same way...
I've met Senator Nelson a number of times and he is a nice, honorable man. But his voting record is lousy. He will vote for the Dem for Majority Leader so that is the most important part. Besides Cruella is not a viable alternative.

5. Vote for them... don't let the seat turn red...
...then challenge them at every turn, attend meetings and write letters making people aware. And, most importantly, start now on finding and grooming a challenger against these DINOs in the next Primary election.

keep the seat and then make it better...

Good luck my friends..!! :hi:

I have to vote for Stabenow, and I'm not real happy about having to do that. This post in GD Politics gave me a good reason and a way to do it.

"So you live in the district of a Representative who voted for torture, or in a state whose senator voted to enable BushCo to disappear people (that's me on both counts) and can't stomach voting for these people because of their votes. What do we do?

Imagine instead you are voting for Barbara Boxer, Russ Feingold, Charles Rangel or John Conyers. Because when you vote for that DINO and the Democrats take back the majority, you are giving these Senators and Representatives the power. You are giving them a louder voice. You are giving them the chairmanships of the committees, the ability to set the agenda (so crap like this never even gets introduced) and the right to investigate, subpoena and punish the crooks running the country today. When I vote for Stephanie Herseth I am voting to give Dennis Kucinich a bigger microphone. When a Floridian votes for Bill Nelson they are voting to put Pat Leahy in charge of the Judiciary Committee, as well as getting rid of the Chairman tag in front of Warner, Stevens, Inhofe and Chambliss.

If you can't bring yourself to cast a ballot for your Democratic candidate, please consider that (at least indirectly) you are voting for the Congressional Democrats you most admire."

7. I am sorry. But look at it this way..

By voting for Nelson you are voting to give the Democrats a majority. If they get a majority then great Democrats like Kennedy and Feingold will have more power. Also, a majority gives Democrats control of the committees and the agenda. That's how you need to look at it and what you need to think about if you get tempted to either stay home or vote for a third party candidate. Think of a Democratic senator you like and think of it as giving them more power.

8. That's exactly why I said he was a number.
All he is right now is a means to a majority.

9. Make certain you write to him and let him know you will work to get him
out of office for violating his pledge to uphold the Constitution though. Vote for him if the vote is needed, but make certain he knows you will get him out of office and maybe into jail as an accomplice.

I wrote a letter (not e-mail) to every one of those traitorus Dems.
