Can my state protect me from this run-amok federal government?

Can my state re-instate my right to be secure in my home, my person and my papers? Can my state re-instate my right to habeas corpus should "someone" decide he doesn't like me and throw me in jail? Where do I have to turn now, my country has betrayed me? Can my state re-instate my rights under the Constitution now we have a dictator in charge?

I'm afraid, now. George Bush has succeeded in terrorizing me.

ceceed. That might be a remedy of sorts. Don't know if it could be done though legally.

in the arena of employment law -- which is the area of law I am most familiar with -- the indvidual (employee) gets the benefit of whichever version of the law (state or federal)that is the most generous for the individual. An example of this would be federal family leave law versus the state law where the individual works.

I think/hope lawyers could apply this concept to other legal questions.

On the other hand, I tend to believe this whole bill was just an election year ploy that everybody knows won't stand up in court. Anything Bush does, can always be undone, exept for the broken and dead people, of course.

5. I've been thinking for awhile that a challenge from a Governor...

...might be the best way to stop this madness.

Not sure what would be the best way to go about it, though (and luckily...nobody has asked me... :D ). The parallels back to the last "state's rights" debate, which I was on the other side of, would be difficult to escape...

6. I think the whole problem is nothing can be done until someone becomes

a victim of this mess. Then that person would have to sue, but seeing as that person would be held incommunicado, without charges, without lawyers, it seems like a dog chasing his tail problem.
