I found George Bush's characterization of the situation in Iraq as being perhaps a "comma" of history someday so offensive and jolting, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.
I try not to listen to this man, normally, as it is embarassing and unbelievable still to me, how uninterested he is in learning anything about history and how indifferent he is to the plight and world views of others. It depressing and frightening when I dwell on how much this country has lost since he has been in office.
The comma comment seared my soul, though; it took a part of me, and it made me violated. I can no longer stand quietly by just shaking my head, trying not to hear. I try to keep my politics local, so as not to become consumed by my natural proclivity to "not just stand by." But over 2000 soldiers in our own country have already died; what toll the situation in Iraq is taking on its own people is unfathomable to me.
No, Mr. Bush, a comma is mark of separation within a sentence (perhaps you missed English class altogether).
No, Mr. Bush, we will NOT stand by and take threats from your Attorney General because the two of you may have missed civics class or think our Constitution "a comma" or irrelevant as well. There are to be three independent branches of government.
When the Dems take back the House and Senate in a few months, Mr. Bush, you will also have to deal with a new independent legislature as well, and the American people will rise, and you will be impeached and your cronies sent to jail (Abramoff's secretary is now Karl Rove's secretary?!!!! You guys never stop and you have become blinded by your own conceit and the filth that is your play book).
Mr. Bush, I say, your, days, are, numbered. You are incapable of imagining how offensive and out of touch you have become, and that is your undoing,
