This was an early endorsement. The only thing I can figure is that Mahoney works with creating "jobs" in the tech sector, and one Wes Clark's jobs is pulling together funds for emerging technologies. Oh well, who knows.

Anyway, this would mean a "D" in congress who hadn't voted for the IWR, which gives them some latitude to speak out. I think we could do much worse than Mahoney. I hope we can win this one.

I don't see how the IWR is a factor for a candidate, especially since Gonzales testified under oath some months ago that the IWR never gave them the war powers they wanted the public and Democratic base to believe it gave them at the time.

The Republicans ran two career politicians (Tom Gallagher and Charlie Crist) to replace the term limited Jeb Bush.

The common saying around the Capital City for years is that Gallager is a skirt chaser and that Crist wouldn't know what to do with it if he caught one.


The first part of the saying was vindicated when Gallagher had to admit during the primary to an extramarital affair during a prior marriage, that he had hidden from his current wife. Gallagher did a Jimmy Swaggart and claimed he had changed since then.

Gallagher lost badly to Crist in the primary but not before Gallager dropped a number of hints about Crist's lifestyle. Crist is not married at 50, although he was married once for "six weeks".

With the attention being brought to Florida with the sex scandal of Mark Foley one wonders if attention to Crist will follow? If the conservative vote abandons Crist then he cannot win Florida.

Seek any executive role, any leadership position, and there ya have it. Look at how they went after Clinton when it started to look like he could actually be trouble for Big Bush. Look at how the anointed David Drier suddenly was 'unanointed' for DeLay's job when the mumbling started.

Unless Crist's first name is Jesus and they misspelled his last name, you can bet his sex life is already being chopped to bits, and carefully examined. If there's even a whiff of smoke, someone is sure to fan the flames.
