CLARK: "It doesn't work. We shouldn't do it. It's morally wrong."
Posted at "The Pennsylvania Progressive" by a blogger who attended the rally for Jack Murtha this morning in Johnstown PA, http://pennsylvaniaprogressive.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/09/wesley_clark_on.html

I had an opportunity to ask General Wesley Clark about torture. I asked the General what he thought about Diana Irey, Jack Murtha's opponent, supporting the use of torture. He had a great answer and I want to get it posted right away. His response (I'll get video up on this next week):

"I don't think the United States ought to be torturing people. I didn't serve 34 years in uniform for a country .... That's what the others guys do. That's what we fought against. It doesn't work. We shouldn't do it, it's morally wrong."

4. He has been speaking out about the torture issue for quite some time
and he's not changed his mind about it whether a law was passed by our rubber stamp congress!

He's spoken out about torture on Fox, in military publications and other venues! http://www.muhajabah.com/clarkblog/2005/10/clark_on_iraq_and_on_torture.php

2. Trust Clark to be succinct, cogent, and correct.
Morally, ethically and pragmatically correct. :applause:

3. That is what I like about Clark
He says stuff, he doesn't wait until its reasonable; what does any politician think about
anything now? I also like how he's busy helping get Dems elected, not waiting for the magic
moment when he will pull the sword out of the stone and become the next Democratic candidate
for President. I would rather have a leader that walks besides us and does the work than
someone who is good at photo ops.

5. Clark doesn't complicate things. He just says it like it is, always. K&R.
