Tucker Carlson: "Part of the beauty of being a Republican politician...
...is that you don't have to care what the gay rights groups think. By the way, who does care what the gay rights groups think?"

Right now, on his MSNBC show, discussing Foley.

12. That's a rather insulting thing to say about gays.
If being gay doesn't make you a pedophile, then being a douchebag doesn't make you gay.

20. Tucker isn't gay because he's a douchebag.
He's gay because he wears a bowtie and triggers my gaydar.

16. I guess this proves that he does believe in "Gay Marriage"
We've had "Gay Marriage" here in Georgia for decades, the only thing that has change is that all involve usually know that it's one now.

I just found this too, he's got 4 kids and a wife! <http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1227121/>

10. That's a 100% word-for-word quote.
When the transcript is posted tomorrow I'd like to update this post so that there's some context. He was discussing Foley, but I heard the statement and hadn't been paying particularly close attention to what came before it.

6. Part of the beauty of being a liberal politician
If that you don't have to care what Republicans think--because they don't know how.

7. But but but...
I thought that the whole reason why they didn't do something about this earlier was that they didn't want to appear to be "gay bashing", and they wanted to be all sensitive 'n everything.

19. That's just a feeble attempt at framing.
By saying that they're avoiding homophobia, they are trying to say that anyone who does attack Foley is a homophobe. It isn't working; I haven't seen a story out of DC that so thoroughly disgusted people in long time, and Foley's sexual orientation has very little to do with that disgust.

15. Well Bob Shrum does
He just went to town for gays on some show on MSNBC, was even smart enough to use 'sexual orientation' instead of 'preference'. So yeah, there are people (and parties) who DO care what gay rights groups think.
