I suppose it was going to come to this. North Korea just joined the Nuclear Club and Bush has done nothing absolutely NOTHING about this. You know that if North Korea were a huge oil producing nation, Bush and his goons would have been there in a heartbeat but I suppose Kim Chee is not a valuable commodity.
Not long before Clinton left office, we were so close to coming to a dialog with Kim Jong Il. Who knows how far it could have gone? Maybe we would have seen President Gore on a state visit to North Korea. At least both sides were starting to talk but when Bush and his Crime Family rolled into the White House and especially after 9/11/01, we're back to square one with these guys. One step forward, five steps back. Bush's rhetoric has made this world more unstable than anytime ever. Don't be surprised in about 3 years from now, Iran will have a bomb, South Korea will have a bomb, Japan, Venezuela, etc... Let's see every country have it's own weapon or weapons of mass destruction. I am willing to bet they are dusting off the Doomsday Clock as we speak.
Not to come across to advocate or support the regime of Kim Jong Il or Kim Jong Crazy as I like to call him, but in a funny way I don't blame him for pulling this off. He wants to preserve his twisted regime and the power that he has over his people. When Bush starts pointing his finger and declaring North Korea as part of the Axis of Evil, I suppose I would "freak out" too. Instead of talking and being firm when need be and at the right time, Bush is just throwing his weight around thus creating instability everywhere. This is why you see Kim Jong Crazy, Ahmednijad, and like-minded leaders like them pursue these weapons.
It is hard to say what is going to happen now that North Korea has the capability to make nuclear weapons. I think North Korea's neighbors South Korea and Japan may start considering their own nuclear program and heaven help us if they are used.
