KERRY Supporters, Who are your cabinet picks? Shadow Cabinet, anyone?
I think at the convention, we should announce a shadow cabinet, to present a united front against Bush. Okay, so maybe not ALL the positions should be announced ahead of time, but here's a partial list of who I think should be announced:

President: John Kerry

Vice President: Wesley Clark

State: Al Gore

Defense: Anthony Zinni OR Erik Shinseki

Attorney General: John Edwards (also 2012 nominee for President)

Homeland Security: Lt. Gen. Claudia Kennedy

Treasury: Franklin Raines

Labor: Dick Gephardt

I don't know who else for other cabinet positions. Here are some other positions I hope Kerry fills:

DNC Chairman: Howard Dean

UN Ambassador: Joe Wilson

National Security Advisor: Rand Beers

Who are some realistic choices?

8. Help me, Brits
I believe it is in the British tradition. The party out of power appoints specific individuals who keep track of the doings of the members of the actual cabinet appointees. So, for example, there is the Labor Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Tories have a 'shadow' Chancellor. I don't know the specifics of what this 'shadow' cabinet does-do they just keep track of what the party in power is doing or do they offer specific counter proposals, ie, "If Tories were in power, we'd do...."

9. W Perry, R. Kennedy, Z. Brzezinski, R. Reich, R. Rubin -- to name a few.

John already has a shadow cabinet in place. It is not clear that
any Pres candidates are relevant.
