If people are anti someone instead of Pro someone it usually doesn't work. In 96 it was anybody but Clinton and we saw Dole. In 84 it was anyone but Reagan and we got Mondale. Reagan and Clinton both had vision and people vote for vision. Other than Ford who was defeated because he was an extension of Nixon, an anti message usually doesn't work.

Perhaps some have been insulted. The underlying motivation is not contempt, but a sense of panic, of absolute need to remove a very powerful person from office in the next election. If you are one who feels insulted, then I plead for your forebearance.

The upcoming GE will NOT be a time to vote ideals and principles alone. It will be a time to compromise and vote strategically, to remove the worst president ever from ill-gotten office. I find it ironic that most of the Greens are planning to vote for the Democrat and debating whether to run a candidate at all, yet some Democrats ponder refusal to vote for their party's nominee.

This isn't 2000. We've seen the damage that an administration of criminals and idiots can do. I don't care if the nominee is the most boring, lame-ass moderate (Lieberman?) the Democratic party has to offer; there's no excuse to withhold your vote.

Fortunately, none of the leading candidates are boring moderates. Dean and Edwards are moderate, but not boring. Kerry is boring, but liberal. Clark is not boring, and could be the most liberal of all, unless he's kidding about his platform.

No Excuses. Not this time.

I'm sick of hearing some Dean supporters (both online and offline) that whine and say they're not voting because Dean didn't get the nomination. Here's a newsflash: he's not going to get it. Get over it.

What you need to do is stop whining and go out and vote. Do you want Bush in for another four years? Well, if you don't, do something about it instead of whining about it. Vote for the frontrunner, whether it's Kerry or not.

It's much too important in this election to vote for a Democrat instead of sulking.

After all the bullying, brow-beating, threats and insulting rhetoric posted here at DEMOCRATICunderground, I had to ask myself, "could I become a Republican"? Alas, the answer remains "NO"! I will remain an Independent until a true party of the People reveals itself. The Democratic Party is responsible for its own demise, not those of us with a conscious.
